Asus X501A-XX402H review

The X501A is otherwise responsive, and more than up to the job of browsing the web or running productivity apps. It's no gaming rig, though, and managed just 10fps in Stalker at 720p, Low detail.

Asus gets all the basics right with the X501A, providing a sturdy, portable laptop with good battery life. It offers good value if you just need a basic laptop for undemanding tasks.

Asus X501A-XX277H review

Asus' X501 laptop range is very much aimed at those on a budget. There are several models in the range but prices start at a mere £299 for this Celeron-based X501A.

Despite its low price, Asus gets all the basics right with the X501A, providing a sturdy, portable laptop with good battery life. It’s no speed demon, but if you just need a basic laptop for undemanding tasks then the X501A provides excellent value for...

Asus X501A review

This sharp-looking laptop lacks an optical drive, but is surprisingly powerful for its price

just so so

Should looking for Lenovo or Toshiba refurbished deals.

The performance is ok, i3 3120M is powerful among the dual-cores ; the HD4000 graphic card is ok for normal use ,too. You can even play some mainstream game with low effects settings

The build quality is really shameful for ASUS family, I know this is a entry level computer, but the build quality is really below $350 rank laptop ; The screen is terrible, too. The view angle is really narrow, like only 60 degrees. Very normal TN...

Bloated, Slow and a Mess!

One of the first, and last, times I will buy refurbished. Maybe it is refurbished for a reason.

Light weight ... that is about the only good thing I can think of

bloated withl software, slowed up machine. Full of viruses and just a mess. Scan software forces as startup and tells you what needs to be reparied and of course the only way you can fix it is to pay them money for the Pro Version ... and if you want...

Screen went white after 6 months

Get a laptop with a better track record.

Got it cheap at a big box store, worked well for 6 months (although I hate windows 8)

After 6 months of normal use, booted it up to find a white screen. The computer seemed to be functioning normally and it was just a display issue ; Did some research and found that it's a common problem with this model. Took it apart and reconnected...

Awesome

It looks great! The matte black is a good choice.

This is a fast little computer. I bought it as a work/school laptop for myself and it is PERFECT for that. I did install Rift on it, just to see how it would do. I was able to play on ultra without lag. It got a little hot after playing the game for a...

Though it played the game great, while patching RIFT, it did NOT want to do anything else. The keyboard can feel slightly cheap but I think that's due to the fact that it's made of a light weight plastic. Keyboard works fine though

ASUS w/Win 8

Nice color

Do NOT buy this laptop. Windows 8 does NOT work with RAM it comes with. The company might not take it back either ; DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

Good PC for light use and web browsing!!!

I got this "Laptop" for $250 in black friday and was a terrific buy since I only wanted one for my wife to surf the net and look at facebook, youtube and download knitting patterns and stuff. After the upgrade in Ram I was really into this notebook...

Is very light, can be transported easily everywhere, usb 3.0 very nice, hdmi out in 720p, cool temps, fast boot in win 8, good widescreen display, multi touch muosepad

Only 2g ram ,means not installing office, Photoshop or any ram demanding program. For upgrading the Ram need to almost take apart mother board since is located under the keyboard, if doing so be veeeeery careful since any extra force will bend, brake...
