Consumer review (newegg.com)

Fast when the normal HDD isn't holding it back - was too expensive for how cheap it feels.

Only a standard hard drive with no option to expand to an SSD without completely replacing the normal drive which would be nice to still have in there for storage needs. I'm thinking of removing the DVD drive to make room for an SSD but again this is...

Its been stable. Once the computer boots (which takes forever) the CPU can do its job and the 4720hq no slouch. Gaming performance is decent. Its not amazing but MSI afterburner helped a bit. I can also run a handful of VM's no problem so thats nice.

The chassis is completely unacceptable for what the price was. Very disappointing. When I took it out of the box. Its literally the exact same chassis they use in the 200-350 dollar range of their laptops. Seriously? An almost 900 dollar laptop feels...

Lots of problems

Bought around the same time fallout 4 came out and it can not run that. I didn't buy it to play fallout 4 but kind of sad to call something a gaming laptop when it can't even play a game on the lowest settings that is released same time as it. They...

Decent for gaming? I guess Stays cool when not doing anything It charges fairly quick due to the small internal battery.

Trackpad isn't very good. Keys aren't back lite so can see them at night. It randomly will not turn on and I have to take the battery out to get it to turn on Would not let me dual boot into linux with original Windows 10 operating system on it. When...

Great for the price

- Came exactly as advertised. The design is low profile and the specs are pretty high for the price. Easily swap out the HDD for SATA III SSD and you have yourself a nice machine. - Running Elder Scrolls online and SWTOR maxed out, machine fan runs...

- Keyboard is not backlit, and the keys are just a little shallow. - Not used to a wider 15.6 but everything scales nicely. - Viewing angles not the best, but straight on everything is great.

Great value! Product arrived without a single blemish in a non retail box. No other way to distinguish from brand new.

Fast procesor, decent RAM, bright screen

Slow 5400 rpm HDD. Replace with a SSD and it's like a rocket. Upgrades to windows 10 easily.

Shuts down when playing games

Stuck with a laptop $800 dollar laptop that is really worth less due to it's problems when it comes to gaming. The specs and pricepoint were good for me at the time, but the lack of reviews meant it was a big risk. Now I can't really do anything else...

- Fast boot up - Good specs - Runs modern games well with medium-high setttings

- bad viewing angles, but you get used to it - Had the laptop for about 6 months and only recently started gaming on it. No problems in the beginning. but the computer started shutting off when playing games. It shuts off in less than an of of playing...

Another Solid Laptop

Do not expect to run Witcher 3 on high and you will be ok. I recommend this laptop because it is half the price of other gaming laptops and one of the cheapest laptops with a great CPU.

This is my third Asus laptop since 2007 and I am happy with it. The screen is average. The graphics are standard. Great price to performance ratio. This laptop is much lighter and thinner than my previous one. Upgrades to Windows 10 without any issues....

Although quiet during normal operation if stressing the GPU the fans have to work overtime. The cooling is decent but not as robust as would be ideal. Proper cooling is heavy and expensive and I understand this is a budget laptop. I don't think their...

Faulty key

It's fast

The "o" key for some reason wasn't working properly. I'd have to press down hard for it to go through and it was very annoying considering i code a lot. Will change my rating after i get a new working laptop

Not Impressed

I have solid beliefs in custom built desktops, and since I have ordered this laptop I have nothing but trouble. My desktop and laptop specs are almost identical and my laptop is significantly slower then my desktop, I assume it to be all the bloatware...

I really enjoy the design of the laptop ; Not a fan of the touchpad, so I use a mouse

I bought this laptop to be used for school ; This laptop DOES NOT come with a product key. I was on the phone with ASUS for quite a while, and they refuse to issue one. They told me "You do not need a product key because we have built in recovery ; I...
