Asus X552CL review

This laptop may only have an Ivy Bridge processor, but its dedicated graphics and superb screen make this £500 system an award winner

The Asus X552CL is a superb budget laptop. It may not have a great battery life, but its powerful hardware, dedicated graphics and excellent screen put it head and shoulders above almost every other £500 laptop we've tested in recent months. It wins a...

Asus X552CL review

Prices start at around £450 for a model with an Intel Core i3 processor, but our review unit typically costs £500, and runs with a 1.8 GHz Core i5, 6 GB of memory and 750 GB hard drive. And alongside the integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000, the X552CL...

The X552CL isn't perfect, and the limited viewing angles of the screen definitely leave room for improvement. However, it does provide good performance for a laptop in this price range, and the inclusion of the GT 710M makes this one of the few budget...

A cracking budget laptop - the X552CL nails the essentials and turns in a performance to embarrass laptops at twice the price

Asus X552CL-SX037H

Very good value for money - good processor and with a serviceable dedicated graphics card ; Good all-round performance

Battery life is quite short, though this doesn't personally bother me much ; Memory could perhaps be a little higher (8gb would be better) ; Mouse pad has no separate buttons - makes tracking and clicking a bit fiddly ; Hard drive not particularly...

Asus X552CL-SX047H

The battery does not hold it's charge overnight from new. the laptop has had to be collected by a courier to go to a service centre and then it will be returned by courier after 7 to 10 days. This situation is totally unsatisfactory

Asus X552CL-SX037H

average laptop

Windows always updating, very basic pc! Old acer was much quicker. By the time you have spent out on this with extra software packages, ie office, might as well brought Apple Mac ; Don't buy if you want a half decent laptop get Apple or Lenovo

Asus X552CL-SX037H

Good processor and separate graphics card allows it to play decent games as well as student work ; I've had several Asus laptops and when one had a hard drive fault it was so simple for them to pick it up and return it fixed ; Great value for the price...

Could be a better battery and the design is the same as all the others; but that's just a general laptop issue
