Review Asus K72JK-TY001V Notebook

Bread and Butter. Asus' mainstream models are labeled K-series. T

Quiet and cool; Good battery life for 17"; Good application performance; Very low idle energy requirement

Weak 3D performance; Reflections on TFT; Only few connections; Contrast poor TFT; No multi-touch zoom

Acer's Aspire 7740G: The 17.3 incher with a strong processor is looking for customers with a price of 700 euro. Acer's Aspire 8942G: It's even possible in 18.4 inch and with a stronger HD 5650. Price starts at 900 Euro. A lot more performance but...

Asus K72DR-A1

Sometimes you need a basic second PC. The Asus K72DR-A1 may just fit the bill: This budget desktop replacement laptop ships with a Blu-ray drive and decent audio performance, making it suitable for showing your kids a movie of their own while you curl...

Excellent multimedia machine ; Superb keyboard makes for easy typing

Underwhelming performance, particularly in games ; Battery life is quite limited

Asus delivers a fine desktop replacement, provided that your needs are fairly undemanding. It does offer superb multimedia capabilities, however, and the price is right.

Good. For a PC.

I think it is a great PC for the price. If I had $1500 I would've got a Macbook Pro but this was less than half :)

It looks good, has a large screen which is awesome, runs pretty fast for the most part

It gets a little hot. I have to have the charger plugged in 24/7 ( I think I messed it up though..). It can't really handle huge programs, I am a music producer, and it just can't handle all the things that are going on, it clips and runs slow

Not worth the price...1 USB broken out of the box

Got it payed for from my work. If I used my own money i'd be a bit upset... I recommend NOT to buy this laptop. It's worth 600 beans and not a penny more.

Nice Screen ; Fairly slim for a 17.3" notebook ; Runs good once you ditch all the bloatware and tweak ; windows 7 ; Hard Drive comes partition well C/D, 120/330gb

Keyboard is cheap style ; Touchpad requires FORCE to work properly. I use a ; trackball so no biggy 4 me ; 1 of the 4 usb ports does not work, returns error code: 43. may be fixable, haven't spent the time on it yet..BUT out of the box the thing should...

Does everything i ask

This was a great buy, better than the best buy i ever made, lol. It was intended for entertainment, it does much more. Win 7 is working well and the machine is running a business. Thanks Newegg and ASUS!

Low cost, cool running, fast, quiet, BIG screen, decent battery life... seems to do everything i ask it to with no issues. Plenty of RAM, ports, power, what more could i ask for in this price range

Won't read my mind or ask me what i mean when i'm not sure

Outstanding Laptop for the price

I have always purchased Dell computers over the past 15 years, mainly because of the quality, performance, warranty, and trouble free operation. I thought I would try Asus this time because of their excellent reputation as builders of high quality...

This laptop has a lot of features that are only found on laptops costing $250.00 or more, such as 500 GB, 7200 hard drive, and a 1 Gig video ram card. This computer is very fast, has very good picture quality, and a great full size keyboard. This is a...

The gloss finish is a finger print magnet, but it looks good. The power supply input should be placed on the back of the computer and not on the right side where it is in the way. Also, other inputs should be relocated to the back of the laptop like my...

Weak Contrast

As a photographer I have to correctly balance brightness and contrast and this LCD will not work for that and that's the reason for 2 eggs. I'm also not thrilled with the way ASUS partitions the hard drive.

Runs cool ; Fast and quiet ; Amount of USP and other ports

Display has clear, but washed out look. Also viewing angle needs to be straight on, due to this contrast problem that is common with the standard ASUS laptop. Looks like some of the higher end gaming laptop may have a higher quality LCD
