ASUS X75A DB31

The Asus Zenbook was one of the first entrants in the new ultrabook category when it launched in late 2011. We liked that original system, despite a few serious flaws, as the all-metal design marked it as a direct competitor to the MacBook Air .

The Asus Zenbook UX32A is much less expensive than previous Asus ultrabooks, but keeps the same sharp design.

Saddled with last-gen components, the UX32A missed out on CPU and GPU improvements from Intel.

Asus makes some of the most full-featured ultrabooks available, but this stripped-down Zenbook UX32A version is missing those extras and faces tough competition in its price range.

Great laptop for college

Not necessarily a con for me, but keep in mind that some might not like the size and weight of the laptop. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase and would consider buying from ASUS again if given the option.

Great Price when on sale (I got it when it was around $430) ; Great cpu for desk work (microsoft office suite) and general internet browsing ; The integrated graphics is the Intel HD graphics 4000. While not the best for gaming, it does hold it own for...

About six to seven months after purchase, I started to have hard drive issues which caused me to bluescreen after opening some applications. The hard drive would make noticeable sounds, but I did remedy this issue on my own after some research ;...

Addendum to previous review

I saw in one of the reviews that one person had loss loyalty for ASUS products. Once your reputation gets blemished you have to know it is very hard to regain it. So you need to be loyal to your good customers. I still believe you have good hardware,...

I believe the hardware to be very good just like ASUS motherboards. I use ASUS motherboards, and that was one of the reasons I bought this PC. Also I have a friend who has an ASUS PC (a different model) with Windows 7, and he is quite pleased

In my previous review I outlined what I had to do with the drivers to get the WiFi stable, and the audio to work as it should. Sometimes the audio worked and others times it did not, and had to reboot. I have been experiencing other problems with third...

RMA: The LCD screen gave out a few months after my purchase. The lower 3rd of the screen would flicker every 3 seconds for 3 seconds. Trying discuss anything with the RMA staff via email is like pulling teeth. I asked, can I keep my HDD so I don't have...

Windows 7 Drivers supported ; Ports located on the left side. Most people are right handed so having the cables/devices on the side opposite of my mouse really helps ; Performance: It's not a gaming laptop but it does perform well and will probably...

Windows 8: Can't stand it. I always purged Windows 8. You will need to use legacy/CSM mode in Bios, change the drive formatting from GPT to MBR, create 2 or 3 partitions with gparted (not windows) to suit your needs, and avoid UEFI when installing from...

Not happy at all

I have returned way too many Asus products that came as brand new. Dead ones, lots with Systems and updates that would lock them up totally and then they sit and "revert" changes for hours on end. I had a customer that I sold a brand new tower to that...

reasonable price, nice exterior design. I have received way too many Asus products that came into my shop that are brand new and when I try to set them up for my customers they have bad hard drives, can't do updates, lock up and sit on reverting...

I bought this for resale in my business. Spent two hours setting up , transferring installing Norton and all of a sudden it develops a vertical white line the runs the entire height of the screen.Called Asus Tech support...total run around due to I had...

Lost some loyalty to ASUS here!

Found the screw when I went to take out the HDD and replace it with a 240GB OCZ vector 150. Luckily that SSD came with Acronis True Image software. Unluckily theere was a screw laying ontop of the HDD when I took off the access panel, then when I...

Less than $500 ; Intel i3 2.4Ghz x2 (w/HT) ; 4GB RAM ; 17" screen ; USB 3.0

Windows 8 is a step backwards for people that are used to windows and its previous start menu layout ; Does not come with AI Recovery Burner. Meaning you cannot easily make DVD's that allow you to bring your laptop back to working condition after HDD...

If you don't care about touch screen and blue tooth, seriously consider this. Really wanted to check out Windows 8.1, but will probably go back to Windows 7.

You can't beat the price. 17.3" screen is very nice - love having all that real estate. It stays incredibly cool and is quite

Windows 8, Windows 8, Windows 8. Minus 3 eggs for this. Haven't even been able to use the computer. Have tried to apply updates and it gets stuck. The first time I attempted to apply updates, I was lucky enough to get stuck with the "Failure...

Great refurbished laptop

This is a great refurbished laptop from a company that i have bought many computers from before and had good luck with. I would recommend this laptop if you want to save money and get a good product from a good company.

Good solid PC with good display and larger keyboard

This PC will connect to my router, but drops the connection from time to time. I have another laptop which connects, and is solid. I have also found it will not connect to some public WiFis. I think the problem is some routers do not fully support the...
