Asus ZenBook UX21E

It's not every day that we see a whole new category of notebook computers emerge. Nonetheless, here in late 2011, off we go headfirst into the "ultrabook" era.

Highly portable ; Strong and fast performance ; Gorgeous polished-aluminum case ; Superb audio system

No memory-card slots ; Keyboard a little shallow, and lacks backlighting ; Slightly less-than-vivid color reproduction

While the Zenbook UX21 ultrabook does lack many of the higher-grade parts of others in the Asus Zenbook family, it is still an excellent ultrabook. You get an LED screen with a 16:9 resolution, an ultrathin design and an HDMI port so you can hook it up...

The UX21 is thin, sleek and can boot up from sleep mode in under three seconds

The keyboard isn't backlit, and the tracking on the keypad seems to be too sensitive
