Asus ZenBook 13 UX331UN (i7-8550U, MX150) Laptop Review

Portable all-rounder. Ultrabooks like the Dell XPS 13 are selling like hotcakes and every OEM wants a piece of the pie. Asus' candidate of choice is the ZenBook UX331UN, a high-quality subnotebook with a dedicated GPU. Read our extensive review to find...

high-quality metal case ; nearly perfect touchpad ; IPS display with decent color-space coverage ; high display brightness + matte display = great outdoor usability ; dedicated GPU supports modern games ; powerful speakers ; case remains relatively...

inconsistent CPU performance ; CPU throttled on battery ; poor keyboard ; system noise under load ; no Thunderbolt 3 ; no NVMe SSD

All things considered, we were quite happy with the ZenBook 13 UX331UN. It features a high-quality display and surprisingly decent speakers, which are the prime ingredients of a multimedia notebook that can be used outdoors thanks to its impressive...

Asus ZenBook 13 UX331UN review: An ultraportable laptop with a knack for gaming

The $1,000 ZenBook 13 makes for a compelling ultraportable laptop, particularly for productivity-minded users with a taste for casual gaming.

Slim and light design ; Great keyboard ; Discrete graphics core for smooth 720p e-sports gaming ; Impressive battery life

Fingerprint-prone lid ; Not the fastest quad-core performance in its class ; Finicky fingerprint reader

With its enviable combination of peppy performance, slim design, long battery life and a discrete graphics chip, the $1,000 ZenBook 13 makes for a compelling ultraportable, particularly for productivity-minded users with a taste for casual gaming.

Asus ZenBook 13 UX331UN Review

The Asus ZenBook 13 UX331UN is blue. Very blue. Honestly, that's its defining feature. It's a $999 laptop with solid performance from an 8th Gen Intel Core i5 CPU, 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU . What will get you, however, is its shiny,...

Acer Spin 7 review

There's nothing flashy or exciting about the Acer Spin 7 convertible laptop; it's also a lot slower than competitors and doesn't support a stylus for Windows Ink. Yet I found myself liking it quite a bit as a general-purpose system.

The Acer Spin 7's a well-designed laptop with a nice touchscreen and sturdy 360-degree hinge, pretty good sound and a smoothly operating keyboard and touchpad.

Its performance doesn't match similarly equipped and priced competitors and there's no stylus support for Windows Ink.

The Acer Spin 7 won't win any awards for performance or features, but its functional design and operation may win your heart.
