Averatec N3400 Review

The Catch-22 of low-cost ultraportables--at least so far--seems to be that you can have performance or endurance, but not both. The $799 N3400 out-muscles the MSI X340, the Lenovo IdeaPad U350, and the Acer Aspire Timeline 3810T, but the battery--which...

Sturdy and stylish chassis, Fast boot time, Good overall performance, External optical drive included

Mediocre endurance, Noisy fan, Battery not easily replaceable, Mainly business-hours tech support

Averatec N3400 13.3" Ultraportable Notebook Review

Pros: Slim and stylish design, very capable processor, three USB ports, virtually no junk software bundled, USB optical drive included. Cons: Dismal battery life, battery is not easily swappable, confusing keyboard layout, hard to access internals.

This $800 ultraportable's excellent performance is countered by its poor battery life, and its good looks do not completely mask its design quirks.

Stylish design, Solid performance, Competitive price, External optical drive included

Dismal battery life, Power cord gets very hot, Letter keys could be more responsive, Questionable touch-pad design

Awesome deal, one issue...

Exactly what I expected, system is awesome so far. There WAS a dead pixel just left of smack dab in the middle, but I was able to rub it out for a quick fix! Also, the keys are a bit iffy, I am not sure if it is going to be an issue but they sort of...

Good for the price

The processor is nothing great, but it can still handle running all the programs and games I use. I would say this is a good product for anyone looking for a general-use computer at a reasonable price. Got one for my Mom and she uses it all the time.
