Great Value

If the screen is dimmed a bit while watching movies and browsing the internet, the battery probably lasts about 3:25, though it's just a guess since I have not totally drained it yet.

This computer is a great value; it performs far better than other laptops in the same price range. Sure it is no gaming machine, but it can still run some games just fine! I play EVE at max settings, and many other games are perfectly playable ; The...

When I bought it, it came with Vista ; The screen, while perfectly fine for one average user, has a very low view angle, so if you need to show something to multiple people, they all have to sit perfectly in front to see ; As mentioned by another...

Great Laptop

Windows 7 upgrade is a must or if you can go back to Windows XP.

It is a very simple layout for a laptop. Other laptops get too complicated for my tastes. I just want a screen, power button, standard keyboard, possible number pad, and a touchpad mouse. Can't get any simpler than this! The price is great for this laptop

The touchpad has no indication that you can scroll just like a standard mouse. It can be done, just no indication. Also there is some noise with the speakers and it seems to happen when the hard disk drive is doing something. The wireless/bluetooth...

Don't ask for help

Customer service is a load of bull. Their website is broken, and their phone is unhelpful. If you get one that works, then you should be fine. If anything goes wrong, don't ask for help. No more MSI for me thank you.

Purchased this laptop for my mother, within the first month of using it Vista started crashing it on her. We sent it back to MSI thinking it was a memory issue, they returned it after updating the BIOS. Yes, that's the only good thing so far

The memory issue turned out to be vista, and Windows 7 "fixed" the problem. The keyboard is non-standard, so when the tab key popped off I was unable to purchase a single key to connect to the keyboard. Instead I'd have to send in the laptop for an...

MSI is a pain

great price with a number pad and HDMI capability

MSI is impossible to contact and even though i sent them all the things they asked for for the windows 7 upgrade i have not received it even though i should have received it about a month ago. I am also upset they dont tell you about the $10 fee until...

Mostly like

Price for performance is ver high. Very good machine for day to day tasks, and does some games decently well, too (nothing to high end - MMOs and such)

Trackpad is a pain in the toucas - random right-click action when you touch in in a naughty way or something - and apparently Vista has no control panel to adjust the trackpad. Or maybe MSI doesn't. Who knows whos fault it is, but there should be...

Awesome Laptop for the money

All in all, this a great laptop for the money. It handles multiple programs very well (Word, Media Player, Mozilla) and so far has done a good job handling vista. The free upgrade that they offer for Windows 7 is nowhere near as easy as it sounds, but...

price ; hdmi output for digital picture ; 10 digit keypad ; low amount of preinstalled software ; msi gives you their own version of word, exel, etc. on a sperate disc that you can install (free!) ; dual layer disc drive ; nice big hard drive ; nvidia...

my biggest con is the right shift key being way too small, but I can live with that because of the 10 digit keypad ; the touch pad is almost too sensitive, so if your not careful, your hand will brush it while typing and reset your cursor on the screen...

its ok

I tried switching the 500G hard drive from my toshiba to this msi, hoping vista would still work with the larger drive. it didn't. My existing (toshiba) laptop's power jack is failing so I just replace laptops.

Light, low price, pretty fast. I purchased mostly based on the extremely high reviews. its a pretty good value given the price

Well, the keyboard is pretty poor -- feels horrible to type on and the keys feel a little cramped ; the screen is a widescreen, but the viewing angle isn't too high on it, so the sides look a little weird/faded. Also the color richness of the screen...

Great laptop for the price. But need to honor Windows 7 deal.

As long as they honor the Windows 7 upgrade, we'll be good. They have a sheet that comes in the laptop package that says they will and they say so on their website. Once I see whether they honor the deal, I'll see whether I want to get another one....

Great screen. The Nvidia makes everything look a lot sharper than the 5 '5921' Toshiba's with the 4500M integrated graphics options. For the price is not a bad laptop considering you get the 3gb ram, 320 HD, a dual core with fast RAM, AND bluetooth -...

Not a con, more an annoyance ... screen is a widescreen, so it's not a standard 16inch - had a problem fitting it into a 16inch tote bag, but who's complaining? Bought a 17inch bag

MSI Not Honoring Win7 Upgrade

I'll post again should MSI tell me different. NewEgg tells me they cannot do anything since it is not advertised on the NewEgg web site. Fair enough.

So far so good. Too early to give a meaningful review, but seems very fast with very little bloatware to remove (Norton)

The Win7 upgrade coupon included is not being honored by MSI as of right now. When you reg your notebook the MSI web site will tell you that this notebook is not eligible for upgrade. Trying to contact MSI support but have been on hold over 40 mins...

Not what I was expecting

Bought this laptop for my Grandma because her's got stolen and I was skeptical to buy it because I haven't really heard anything about MSI's laptops, and I must say I'm impressed. My grandma loves it. It's much faster than the Dell Vostro she had....

3gigs of RAM, Nvidia 8200M graphics, Intel Core 2 is really fast with Vista, free Upgrade to Windows 7, full number pad, nice 16" screen

Shift and enter keys are hard to find if you're used to a normal keyboard because they're pretty small, some bloatware; though not enough to take away an Egg
