Dell Inspiron 14R-5437

The Dell Inspiron 14R-5437 offers ten hours of battery life in an affordable 14-inch desktop replacement laptop.

Nice Price. Almost 10 hours battery life. Removable battery. Optical drive. Good friction on screen hinges (no screen bounce).

Low 1,366 by 768 resolution screen. USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports are same color. Non-backlit keyboard.

The Dell Inspiron 14R-5437 makes sense when you're using it to replace an older laptop or desktop PC. It's got the power and features to keep most entry-level users happy, with the added benefit of close to ten hours of battery life on a replaceable...

Dell Inspiron 14R (I14RN-1364PBL)

Very little about the Dell Inspiron 14R (I14RN-1364PBL) helps it stand out in the crowd, in either a good or a bad way.

Equipped with decent hardware. Includes two USB 3.0 ports.

Unremarkable productivity performance, battery life. Some bloatware.

Dell Inspiron 14R-7616DBK

Equipped with a second-generation Intel Core-i3 processor, the Dell Inspiron i14RN4110-7616DBK ($649.99 list at Best Buy) offers some nice connectivity and wireless features and a sizable hard drive at a reasonable price. However, its performance is...

Solid feature set. Second generation Core i3 CPU. Large hard drive

Spongy keyboard. Small touchpad. Lackluster performance

The Dell Inspiron i14RN4110-7616DBK offers the latest Core-13 technology and has a good selection of wireless options and I/O ports, but its performance is only so-so.

Dell Inspiron 14R-1296PBL

The Dell Inspiron R14-1296PBL is an attractive 14-inch notebook with a strong wireless feature set, but its performance is lacking.

Stylish design. Lots of wireless options. Large hard drive.

Sluggish performance. Integrated graphics. Low battery life.

Dell Inspiron 14R-1181MRB

Good looks notwithstanding, the Dell Inspiron 14R-1181MRB won't satisfy you unless you have very general needs.

Attractive design. Decent-size hard drive.

Overall slow performance. Low battery life.

Dell Inspiron 14R-1440PBL

The Dell Inspiron 14R-1440PBL laptop did not perform as well as systems that cost about the same or less, thanks to a sluggish Pentium processor.

Vibrant design. Excellent user experience. 500GB hard drive is spacious.

Slow performance scores. Weak battery life scores. Overpriced.

Dell Inspiron i14R-2265MRB review: Dell Inspiron i14R-2265MRB

Dell Inspiron i14R-2265MRB

Streamlined look, easy-to-use keyboard and touch pad; built-in WiMax antenna; fast Core i5 processor.

WiMax may not be of much use, as it's not available in most major cities yet.

With Windows 7 Professional and built-in WiMax, the Dell i14R-2265MRB is a retail laptop angling for the professional market, and as such might be a good option for a budget small-business machine.

Dell Inspiron 14R (model N4010)

Just in time for the back-to-school season, Dell has released its new R series of Inspiron all-purpose laptops. Though the stylish silver accents are the first thing you'll notice, the Inspiron R series is more than just a cosmetic upgrade. The...

Discrete graphics and premium sound ; Good keyboard and touchpad

Fan gets noisy in graphics-heavy games ; No switchable graphics means poor battery life

Dell has assembled a slick update to the Inspiron line that, despite a few shortcomings, will let students and home users do anything they need to without breaking the bank.

Dell Inspiron 14R

The Dell Inspiron 14R laptop has numerous features and performance options, but you're better off going a system that comes with integrated graphics.

New Inspiron design. Excellent keyboard and navigating experience. Reasonably priced. Very configurable. 500GB hard drive. Speedy, with 3D benefits.

A bit thick and boxy-looking. Runs warm. Less than desirable battery scores.

Dell Inspiron 14R review: Dell Inspiron 14R

Dell Inspiron 14R

Streamlined look, easy-to-use keyboard and touch pad; reasonable price for its components; includes solid ATI graphics for gaming

Awkward port layout, short battery life.

Dell's next-generation Inspiron laptops have arrived, and while it doesn't reinvent the wheel, the Inspiron 14R presents a very solid package of Core i3 performance and ATI dedicated graphics for a fair price.
