Dell Inspiron 15-5558 Notebook Review

Dark screen. Dell sends a 15.6-inch all-rounder into the fight for buyers' favor with its Inspiron 15-5558. The laptop pleases with an IPS screen that, however, has a much too low brightness. Dell could have been a bit less tightfisted with the GPU.

Matte, high-contrast Full HD IPS screen, Plenty of storage, Barely heats up, 802.11 ac dual-band Wi-Fi, Maintenance cover

Dark screen, Fast Ethernet only, Comparatively low gaming performance

Dell has a 15.6-inch all-round device in its lineup with the Inspiron 15-5558. The installed processor offers enough power for routine use. The GeForce graphics core allows gaming at least to a certain degree. However, we would have expected a stronger...

A good display doesn't redeem Dell's consumer laptop from its myriad failings.

Large, vivid display ; 16GB of memory

Flaky keyboard and trackapd ; Short battery life ; Feels fragile

Dell's budget big-screen laptop looks impressive, but it feels flimsy, has keyboard and trackpad issues, and its battery runs down much too quickly.

Dell Inspiron 15 5000 (2014) Review

The Inspiron 15 5000 is a solid 15-inch laptop with a vivid touch screen, but it doesn't do enough to distinguish itself at this price.

Crisp and vivid display; Sleek and solid design; Good multi-tasking capability

Hot underside; Below-average battery life

The Inspiron 15 5000 is a solid 15-inch laptop with a vivid touch screen, but it doesn't do enough to distinguish itself at this price.

The Dell Inspiron 15 5547 is a mainstream, 15.6in laptop with a strong central configuration. It's good enough for students, families, and anyone who wants a reasonably fast, yet affordable, laptop with a Full HD screen.

This outstanding general purpose laptop provides plenty of processor power and battery life for a surprisingly low price

Dell Inspiron 15 5547 laptop

It may not be as flashy as other laptops we've seen recently, but Dell's Inspiron 15 5000 Series represents a slightly new direction for the manufacturer's mainstream 15.6in products. It has a cleaner look, and it doesn't feel overly bulky. On the in...

Descent laptop for a descent price

Overall a great laptop, will not disappoint you unless you are a hardcore gamer. Make sure you update all drivers and software's once you get the laptop. When I got the laptop, there was an issue with the track pad, it kept freezing randomly but after...

Very high specifications. Have not had any issues with this laptop being slow or freezing randomly ; Fast response time, wakes up quickly from sleep and starts up pretty fast after a shut down

The Graphics Card being an Intel HD 4600 limits the amount of games that you can play on high settings, nonetheless you can run most games due to the i7 processor and 8GB ram. P.S. the Intel graphics card is not that bad, it's just not designed for...

Best In Class (Price/Features/Performance)

I didn't notice when I ordered though, this unit does not have an optical drive for CD/DVD/Blue Ray. This might be an issue to consider, however, I can't remember the last time I had to use optical media anyway. You can get a portable self-powered unit...

I was very impressed with this unit, it has the best balance of price point, features, and performance (i5, USB 3.0, Bluetooth, backlit keys, touch screen, light weight) ; Upgradable to 16GB RAM ; No bloatware to speak of except the included antivirus...
