Review Dell Inspiron 1545 Notebook

MTV-Laptop. The 15.6-incher of the colorful EMA 2009 Limited Edit

Quiet and little waste heat; Low energy demand

No HDMI; Creaking hinges; Bad workmanship of the display frame; Smudge everywhere; Spongy input

Without elegant lid: Acer's Extensa 5230E is a hot tip. Also Lenovo offers a low-priced office laptop, the G550 series. The Samsung E251 at slightly more than 400 euro has a comparably meager equipment, but, a matt look.

Dell Inspiron i1545-4742JBK

Available at Staples for $649.98 (list), the Dell Inspiron i1545-4742JBK is a comfortable, albeit ordinary looking, 15-inch mainstream notebook with a spacious hard drive and a bright, 15.6-inch HD display. Its Intel Pentium CPU doesn't offer the kind...

Affordable. Nice keyboard and touchpad. Sizable hard drive. Crisp display

Lacks draft n Wi-Fi. So-so performance. Integrated graphics

The Dell Inspiron i1545-4742JBK is a good choice for cash-strapped students or anyone seeking an affordable, well-equipped 15-inch notebook. Just don't expect blazing performance from this Pentium-based system.

Dell Inspiron 1545 (i1545-004ST)

For many families and school-bound teenagers, there's only room in the budget for a laptop with basic amenities. The Dell Inspiron 1545 (i1545-004ST) meets two of the most basic laptop requirements: Both its screen and hard drive are large enough to...

Bargain price. Big hard drive. 4GB of memory. Perfectly tuned typing and navigating experience. Big widescreen

Sluggish performance scores. 802.11g only. Plain-looking

If you can get past its speed limitations, the Dell Inspiron 1545 is one heck of a laptop bargain.

Dell Inspiron 1545 (i1545-USE010ST)

The feature set is somewhat below average. It doesn't come with features like HDMI-Out (for video streaming) or a FireWire port, and 802.11 draft-n Wi-Fi is not supported—just 802.11g. If you can look past these omissions, the 1545 has plenty of USB...

Big hard drive. Excellent typing and navigating experience. Big widescreen

Sluggish performance scores. 802.11g only

The Dell Inspiron i1545-USE 010ST is an inexpensive family laptop, but there is a better and cheaper configuration at Staples.

Dell Inspiron i1545-4583JBK

The Inspiron i1545 supplies an average collection of ports and connections. You get three USB 2.0 ports, a VGA port, an Ethernet jack, an ExpressCard/34 slot, a multi-format media card reader, and headphone and microphone jacks. Absent are eSATA and...

Cheap price and solid build quality. Comfortable keyboard and touchpad. Surprisingly decent audio output. Respectable battery life

Previous-generation CPU can't keep up with newer Core i3 chips. No 802.11n WiFi. No HDMI or eSATA ports

The Dell Inspiron i1545-4583JBK is a solid entry-level, 15.6-inch laptop. Its build quality, audio output, and battery life impress, but its CPU is a generation behind what you'll find in laptops that cost only $100 or so more.

DELL Inspiron 1545

Dell's notebook line is extensive and the Inspiron 1545 is designed for to appeal to those that need an everyday applications machine

The 1545 packs the right stuff for everyday usability at an attractive price. Not for gamers however.

Dell Inspiron 1545 Review

The Dell Inspiron 1545 is one of the bigger entry level notebooks on the market. The Dell Inspiron 1545 is at the dimension of 373×244×25.9-37.5mm, and the weight of the Dell 1545 is just 2.64kg.

The Dell Inspiron 1545 seems to be the most promising one with its best balance of price, features and portability. It stands out in an crowded market with its 15.4 inches glossy wide-screen LED screen and its low price. There is a good choice for...

Nice, Simple Laptop

Good, nice laptop for simple things. I make videos with a lower grade of the Sony Vegas programs and it runs well with it. But it gets confused with some effects. However, excellent laptop for basic things

Pretty quick if you keep it clean. Love the keyboard, easy for typing. Comfortable for typing for long periods of time

Freezes sometimes. Not too often. Maybe twice a month. it can be slow with some more advanced programs

Consumer review by:

Good for simple activities.

Nice laptop for basic things as surfing in the internet, listening music, etc. I use it for programming and it's work well and I like it. It's fast, if you do cleaning and maintaneance of hardware and software, but is a good computer.

Processor if you choose the Core2Duo one ; DVD/CD burner

Battery life ; video card - you just can choose an intel integrated one or a ati radeon of 256mb
