Dell Inspiron 15 (1564)

I like a lot of Dell's newer laptops, and I had hoped to like the company's newly Core i5-enhanced Inspiron 15 (1564 variant). This model has a lush widescreen and isn't too big, and the glossy shell looks nearly as good as the Apple aesthetic it apes....

Great big widescreen to work on ; Power to spare for most tasks

Missing video connections ; Offset keyboard with a too-small number pad

There's no denying that the 1564 has a lot of power--but with so few ports on this laptop, how are you going to make use of it?

Dell Inspiron i1564-6980CRD

Simple, straightforward design.

Minimal port assortment; 802.11g wireless; no Bluetooth; glossy plastic chassis.

The Dell Inspiron i1564-6980CRD is a good, but basic, laptop.

Dell Inspiron 1564

The recurring theme for mainstream laptops, especially if they're Intel based, is the guts from last year are being replaced with new ones this year. Looking at the Dell Inspiron 1564 ($879 direct, E-value code: DNDOV33) seems like déjà vu all over...

Powered by a Core i5 processor. Midrange ATI graphics card for games. Speedy laptop. Excellent typing and navigating experience. Adjacent numeric keypad

Lackluster battery life. No ExpressCard slot

The Dell Inspiron 1564 is a mainstream laptop designed with speed in mind, thus giving battery life the cold shoulder.

Dell Inspiron 15 (1564 with Core i5 540M Processor) Notebook Review

The new Dell Inspiron 15 was one of the best notebooks I've used, it's certainly not something you'd recommend for size and weight but take a look, this could be the one for you!

It's a good notebook. Powerful processor, great screen, great audio, comes with optical drive and whatever else needed for productivity.

Dell Inspiron 1564 review

Dell's new Inspiron line has the same custom-coloured lids and sleek design as its forebears, but underneath the hood you'll find one of Intel's new Core i3 chips, which includes a built-in graphics processor.

An attractive laptop with a fast Core i3 processor, the 1564 has a relatively small hard disk and could do with a better screen.

Dell Inspiron 15-1564 review

The Dell Inspiron 15 has undergone some significant facelifts, as a result it looks much better than the older Inspiron 15. Gone is the drab, lacklustre design of the past - the new Inspiron 15 sports a more polished, refined look. You have five glossy...

The new Dell Inspiron 15 sports significant improvements over the older model, both in terms of look and feel and overall performance. It may not have every feature in the bag, but for a price tag of £398, we think it has a pretty good blend of style...

Dell Inspiron 15-1564

Combining good looks, sleek performance and a price that screams “good value”, the Dell Inspiron 15-1564 is an excellent shout for those of you on the hunt for an entry-level notebook with plenty of decent features to get stuck into.

There aren’t many notebooks for the entry-level market that offer such a high level of performance as the Dell Inspiron 1564. The reputation is slightly tarnished by a very basic level of connectivity, but if you plan to use the 1564 mainly at home,...

"At least it's nice looking"

Bought this laptop almost a month ago. I work from home and need a laptop that can handle usage 10-12 hrs a day. This runs hot. It can't keep up with my 3 year old Toshiba. Planning on taking it back before the 30 day return expires.

Sleek look and light weight.

Doesn't have any more power than my outdated laptop. The mouse is either moves too fast or doesn't move at all. Fan runs quite a bit.
