Very good performance scores. 1,920-by-1,200 resolution option. Dual hard drive option for capacities up to 500GB. Mobile broadband from either Cingular, Sprint, or Verizon. Choice of eight colors.

Blu-ray drive option without an HDMI or DVI-D port. Heavier than the Dell Inspiron E1705 (Vista).

Dell Inspiron 1720 Notebook - Customizable

 

A powerful laptop does not have to be a boring laptop. Take Dell's Inspiron 1720, a robust system that also happens to be available in seven colors besides black. The 1720 is a heavyish 17-inch notebook, but its multimedia design is outstanding.

A well-built, 17in Dell notebook with a high-definition screen

High-definition screen, hard drive encryption, comfortable keyboard

Poor graphics performance, no digital video output, no eSATA

The Dell Vostro 1720 is a well-rounded machine and should suit any business user who wants large notebook with a high resolution display instead of a space-hogging PC and monitor setup. Don't bank on it for good 3D graphics performance though.
