Dell Inspiron 700m (Iss. 21 2004)

The elegant Dell Inspiron 700m combines strong performance, style, and value that should please just about anyone.

Awesome value; crisp widescreen display; 8x CD/DVD burner (DVD+RW/+R)

Poor battery life; reflective screen; no Bluetooth or multimedia keys

Overall, the Dell Inspiron 700m offers a good combination of features in a small yet powerful package. And it's the least expensive Windows system in our ultraportables group.

Strong performance and wide-aspect screen distinguish this lightweight laptop.

A strong, lightweight laptop, the Dell Inspiron 700m offers the bonus of a wide-aspect screen. All that mars the picture is a slightly cramped keyboard and an annoying optical drive button.

We like the idea of a wide-screen display in a 4-pound notebook. Get the extended battery and you have yourself a fine traveling companion.

The Dell Inspiron 700m sits on the borderline of being an ultraportable (usually determined as a notebook weighing 3 4 lbs) notebook and a thin-and-light style notebook (defined as a notebook weighing 4 6 lbs). With a gorgeous 12.1 widescreen, 4.1 lbs...

I have no problem endorsing the 700m as a good notebook. I really like its looks and I really, really like the screen. It is priced very competitively if you use coupons (checkout

Off to school we go! Yes, it's that time of year again for many. But fear not! All is not lost, for it's also notebook hunting season. Of course, even if you enjoy going back to school, it's still a rare treat. After all, you are choosing a companion...

A while back, we got hold of a 700m when it was first introduced and we were impressed with its small size and evolutionary design. It was one of the first ultraportables to have a wide aspect ratio display and a built-in optical drive, all while...

A strong, lightweight laptop, the Dell Inspiron 700m has a neat wide-aspect screen. All that mars the notebook is a slightly cramped keyboard, an annoying optical drive button and a short battery life.

Very good screen resolution, impressive speed, sturdy design, easily accessible for upgrades
