Dell Inspiron Duo (Black)

The flip screen implementation is an original and refreshing take on the convertible tablet, but the Dell Inspiron Duo underwhelms when it comes to features and tablet performance.

Clever and refreshing take on convertible tablet design. High resolution screen. Excellent keyboard and mouse button combination. Sturdy netbook. 2GB of DDR3 memory included. Fast-spinning hard drive

Bare-bones feature set. Battery is small and not user-removable. Poor battery life. Touch performance is sluggish. Components can't handle Windows 7 Home Premium. Cluttered with 3rd party and proprietary software

Dell Inspiron Duo

The flip screen implementation is an original and refreshing take on the convertible tablet, but the Dell Inspiron Duo completely ignored the part about features and tablet performance.

Innovative convertible tablet design. High-resolution screen. Excellent keyboard and mouse button combination. Sturdy netbook. 2GB of DDR3 memory included. Fast-spinning hard drive

Bare-bones feature set. Small, non-removable battery. Poor battery life. Touch functionality is flawed and sluggish. Components are not equipped to handle Windows 7 Home Premium. Cluttered with third-party and proprietary software

Dell Inspiron Duo

A cool flip-hinge design can't compensate for sluggish touch software and poor battery life.

While the gorgeous rubberized chassis and responsive touchscreen make the Inspiron Duo seem compelling, its short battery life, sluggish touch software, mediocre media playback, and lack of ports make it a tough sell. For much less than the Duo's $549...

Dell Inspiron Duo review

When Dell first demoed the Inspiron Duo and its vertically rotating screen on stage at IDF in September, our mouths nearly hit the floor. It looked like a plain old netbook until its 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen did a magical backflip and folded...

Innovative vertical rotating screen design ; Extremely sturdy build ; Great chiclet keyboard

Terrible viewing angles ; Less than 3.5 hours of battery life ; Software layer is incredibly sluggish

Dell Inspiron 9300

Expensive, full-featured entertainment notebook could be more powerful.

Conveniently designed with lots of ports

Doesn't have a built-in TV tuner

This beautiful 17-inch wide screen has fun-to-use media buttons, but you can find better-sounding entertainment notebooks; and for the money, we'd have like to get a TV tuner built-in.

Dell Inspiron 9300 Review (pics, specs)

The Inspiron 9300 is Dells flagship desktop replacement notebook computer. Sporting a choice of two 17 widescreen displays, it is aimed at buyers who desire power and value over ultimate mobility. Dell took a very different approach with this desktop...

Large, bright, sharp, saturated screen. Fans never become loud Exceptional battery life for such a large laptop (5+ hours possible with 9-cell battery) DVI port that supports ultra high resolution displays Sturdy with no flex

Fans don't turn off Fit and finish not perfect Room for a much larger keyboard

This is the right laptop for someone who needs the best multimedia performance and biggest screen while still retaining some portability. Pros: Large, bright, sharp, saturated screen.

Dell Dimension 9100

The Dimension 9100 has a white and silver BTX case, with the case door on the opposite side from what you're likely accustomed to, especially if you were working in an older ATX case, which is likely. BTX is the new industry standard for motherboards...

Quiet BTX design. Easy to open and service. Bright 20-inch widescreen LCD. Media card reader. Dual-core power for multitasking

Limited internal drive expansion. No HDTV tuner. Could use a wireless keyboard and mouse

If you crave an upgrade from that 2- to 3-year-old midrange system sitting on your desk, the Dimension 9100 can take the home media hobbyist to the next level.
