Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook Computer (Core 2 Duo T5300 1.73GHz/120GB/2GB) review: Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook Computer (Core 2 Duo T5300 1.73GHz/120

Comfortable keyboard and touch pad; adequate display; solid collection of basic multimedia features; excellent multimedia controls; wide array of configuration options; competitive base price.

Mediocre performance with Windows Vista; too heavy for regular travel.

With a solid set of multimedia features and high-end components, the Windows Vista-based Dell Inspiron E1505 remains a good laptop for basic home use.

Dell Inspiron E1505 (Core 2 Duo)

The Dell Inspiron E1505 (Core 2 Duo) carries an unbeatable combo of discrete graphics, a Core 2 Duo processor, and a gig of RAM—for $999.

ATI graphics. Bundled MediaDirect, the best instant-on software available. Best bang for the buck. Excellent keyboard and mouse buttons. Bigger battery gives you five hours of battery life.

A bit on the heavy side.

This well-rounded notebook is ideal for getting work done.

Offers "instant office apps" capability

Not ideal for gaming

With "instant office apps" capability and fast performance, the E1505 is a good all-around notebook for getting work done.

Dell Inspiron E1505

Visually, there's no difference between the old Inspiron and the current one. The E1505 retains the familiar arctic-silver chassis and white edges. At 6.6 pounds, it's a little lighter than the 7-pound Inspiron 6000. The keyboard is comfortable to use,...

Low price. Intel Core Duo processor

You must punch in the E-Value Code (E1505PC) to get this offer. So-so battery life

The E1505 is a steal for the features and mobile processing power you get.

Dell Inspiron e1505 with Core 2 Duo Review (pics, specs)

The Dell Inspiron e1505 is a 15.4" widescreen notebook now available with the impressive Intel Core 2 Duo processor. The Inspiron 6400 is available through the Dell Business site and is the same as the e1505. The e1505 is a well rounded mainstream...

Dell Inspiron e1705 with nVidia 7800 Graphics Review (pics, specs)

The Dell Inspiron e1705 is a 17" widescreen laptop that can be classified as a desktop replacement. It was one of the first Inspirons, behind the e1505, that uses Intel's Core Duo. The e1705 acts as an entertainment machine which comes with Microsoft...

Dell Inspiron e1505 Review (pics, specs)

The notebook is sturdy enough to feel comfortable lifting it by one corner. However, I would like better overall build quality. It is comparable to Sony and others but does not come near the solid (and expensive) IBM ThinkPad line. Just like my...

Top-Notch computing performance in non-3D applications ; Awesome for multi-taskers ; Very respectable battery life ; Quiet under normal use ; Mostly cool running ; Good keyboard ; Surprisingly good speakers

Build quality could be improved some ; Not available with high end graphics (yet?), must get spendier XPS line for that ; Best of three available screens is not that great ; No non-glossy option for high resolution or expanded viewing angle

On the desktop and system tray there is a fair amount of "annoyware" -- junk that many people won't use. Dell did install Google Desktop, which I find quite useful. It finds file on your computer far faster than a windows search does, and includes...

Excellent laptop for the price

After months of shopping around I finally picked up this Dell e1505, and I am VERY pleased with it. It's not perfect, but for the money I paid I couldn't ask more. I'm a senior engineering student who plays a few 3D games, does video edited and...

FAST, price, crisp screen, speakers, quiet, FAST

preloaded software, screen viewing angle, *slight* flex in keyboard... nothing to make me regret purchase
