Review: Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 Netbook

Reliability on a Budget. The Inspiron Mini 1018 is the new 10-inc ...

Long Battery Life ; Fanless Cooling System ; Reliable Build ; Pleasing Design ; Comfortable Keyboard ; Current Netbook Hardware

Small Touchpad ; Very Warm to the Touch ; Few Accessories Included ; Only 1 Speaker ; Glossy Screen

How quickly a few reductions in the number of ports and case colors could yield an otherwise structurally identical "budget version" of the Mini 1012

One of the Big 4, Dell is a name not to be taken lightly when it comes to personal computing. Their netbooks; called the Mini series too have garnered good reputation, and the good thing is they have quite a few models, with varying internal specs in...

The touchpad is another story - it sucks. It's unresponsive - the surface they have provided needs more friction. The buttons too are integrated into the pad, so one does not know where the buttons begin or end, so right clicking becomes an arduous...

Dell Inspiron Mini 10v Netbook

Dell, the name that brought us some serious quality products over the years sent us a netbook from their Inpsiron Mini series. It's small, it's cute, and it's Atom-based. The netbook market has some insane choices and more are welcome. So here is our...

At a price of Rs. 19,000, it's quite reasonable, and it performs like any other netbook on the current market. But the touch pad has serious issues. The screen and build of externals is very good. Battery life is really good. All in all this one is a...

While manufacturers have been benefiting from the current popularity of netbooks, Dell with its Inspiron mini 10 has finally hopped on to the 10-inch netbook bandwagon.

For its price of Rs 24,900, we say that if you’re looking for a no-nonsense super-portable netbook which looks plain, the mini 10 is a good option. Don't expect stupendous performance from it.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (T-Mobile) Review - A Review of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (T-Mobile)

Fastest 3G speeds yet from a netbook, Data plan $20 less per month than other carriers, Long battery life, Comfortable keyboard, Loud speakers

Awkward touchpad, Performance a bit sluggish, Mediocre video performance, Runs hot

With the exception of the little T-Mobile webConnect sticker below the keyboard, the 3-pound Mini 10 looks identical to the more recent models we've already reviewed. And that's mostly a good thing. We like the sleek, wedge shaped design, and the...

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (Broadcom) Review - A Review of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (Broadcom)

Distinctive design with several color options, Comfortable keyboard, HD video playback, Relatively loud speakers, 8 hours of battery life

Higher price point than other netbooks, Finicky touchpad, Bottom runs a bit hot, Sluggish boot time

After playing a Hulu video for 15 minutes at full screen, the Mini 10 got toasty. The touchpad measured 95 degrees Fahrenheit, the space between the G and H keys was 100 degrees, and the center of the underside measured 112 degrees; we consider...

Dell Mini 10 with Broadcom Crystal HD Accelerator review

Michael Dell may not be a fan of netbooks, but you wouldn't know that from the newest Mini 10. Joining the current Mini 10v, Dell's completely overhauled the chassis and added Intel's new Pine Trail processor. But that's not all: come February the...

Unique design ; Available in slew of colors ; Comfortable matte keyboard

Thicker than most netbooks ; Frustrating touchpad ; Broadcom Crystal HD solution is hit or miss

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (Pine Trail)

Dell's revamped netbook features a slicker design and excellent battery life, but its touchpad isn't for everyone.

The Inspiron Mini 10 is a solid netbook, especially for those who want to customize the look of their systems and trick it out with plenty of options. It offers a more attractive chassis than its predecessor, better audio and video performance, and...

Dell Inspiron Mini 10

Netbooks are a lot cheaper than full-size notebooks, the battery lasts a lot longer, and if you spend most of your time in a Web browser anyway, the performance limitations aren't that big a deal. With the Mini 10, Dell attempts to tap into the desires...

Decent TV tuner ; Good design with small, light layout

Mediocre netbook performance ; High-res screen is a little hard to read

Despite a decent design, this netbook's screen and limited storage don't make it the ideal platform for a TV tuner.
