Review: Dell Inspiron Mini 1018 Netbook

Reliability on a Budget. The Inspiron Mini 1018 is the new 10-inch "budget netbook" from Dell. The hardware is up to current standards, but you'll have to go without additional features at a starting price of 279 Euro.

Long Battery Life, Fanless Cooling System, Reliable Build, Pleasing Design, Comfortable Keyboard, Current Netbook Hardware

Small Touchpad, Very Warm to the Touch, Few Accessories Included, Only 1 Speaker, Glossy Screen

Review Dell Mini 1012 Netbook

Nvidia Ion Killer. The Broadcom Crystal HD chip in Dell's Mini 10

Long battery life; 1366x768 pixel; Silent; Stable case & hinges; Smooth HD videos; Very good keyboard

High waste air temperatures; No HDMI; Poor touchpad feedback

HP's Compaq Mini 311 is on top in terms of price with 375 euro. The Samsung N510 costs 425 euro and is also suitable for outdoor fans with a matt display. The most expensive is Lenovo's S12 for 450 euro. All three notebooks are 11.6 inchers with a...

Review Dell Inspiron Mini 10 Netbook

Illustriously into the Future with 10 inches The Dell Mini 10, a

Display lid's design can be selected; Compact case; Keyboard in a standard layout; Digital HDMI interface

Touchpad; Reflective display; Restricted opening angle; Smaller manufacturing flaws on the front edge

There are already more than enough classic netbooks - from Asus, Acer, MSI, HP, etc. It does get exciting with the HD display, though. The upcoming Sony Vaio W11 is one of the few netbooks which can draw level even here.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (T-Mobile) Review - A Review of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (T-Mobile)

Fastest 3G speeds yet from a netbook, Data plan $20 less per month than other carriers, Long battery life, Comfortable keyboard, Loud speakers

Awkward touchpad, Performance a bit sluggish, Mediocre video performance, Runs hot

With the exception of the little T-Mobile webConnect sticker below the keyboard, the 3-pound Mini 10 looks identical to the more recent models we've already reviewed. And that's mostly a good thing. We like the sleek, wedge shaped design, and the...

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (Broadcom) Review - A Review of the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (Broadcom)

Distinctive design with several color options, Comfortable keyboard, HD video playback, Relatively loud speakers, 8 hours of battery life

Higher price point than other netbooks, Finicky touchpad, Bottom runs a bit hot, Sluggish boot time

After playing a Hulu video for 15 minutes at full screen, the Mini 10 got toasty. The touchpad measured 95 degrees Fahrenheit, the space between the G and H keys was 100 degrees, and the center of the underside measured 112 degrees; we consider...

Dell Mini 10 with Broadcom Crystal HD Accelerator review

Michael Dell may not be a fan of netbooks, but you wouldn't know that from the newest Mini 10. Joining the current Mini 10v, Dell's completely overhauled

Unique design ; Available in slew of colors ; Comfortable matte keyboard

Thicker than most netbooks ; Frustrating touchpad ; Broadcom Crystal HD solution is hit or miss

Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (Pine Trail)

Dell's revamped netbook features a slicker design and excellent battery life, but its touchpad isn't for everyone.

The Inspiron Mini 10 is a solid netbook, especially for those who want to customize the look of their systems and trick it out with plenty of options. It offers a more attractive chassis than its predecessor, better audio and video performance, and...

Dell Mini 10v

Dell's Mini 10v keeps a lot of the features of the more expensive Mini 10, while dropping the price to AU$549. It's one of only a handful of AU$600 netbooks that doesn't look and feel especially cheap.

Same basic chassis as Dell's more expensive netbooks, Very low entry price

Limited configuration options, Inset screen is not as nice as the Mini 10's edge-to-edge glass

Dell Inspiron Mini 10

Netbooks are a lot cheaper than full-size notebooks, the battery lasts a lot longer, and if you spend most of your time in a Web browser anyway, the performance limitations aren't that big a deal. With the Mini 10, Dell attempts to tap into the desires...

Decent TV tuner ; Good design with small, light layout

Mediocre netbook performance ; High-res screen is a little hard to read

Despite a decent design, this netbook's screen and limited storage don't make it the ideal platform for a TV tuner.

Dell Inspiron Mini 10v

The Dell Mini 10v is one of the most affordable netbooks money can buy, and 8 hours of battery life isn't too shabby either.

Very aggressively priced. Almost 8 hours of battery life. Other colors are available as options. Option for 802.11n WiFi

Touchpad and mouse buttons are difficult to use. Design is plain. 120GB is not a deal breaker, but it's smaller than those of its competitors ; Watch our Dell Inspiron Mini 10v video review
