Dell Latitude 3330 review: The embodiment of a no-frills notebook

This budget offering is no bargain if you expect more than basic productivity.

Budget price ; Attractive design

Mushy keyboard ; Only 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networking

Sleek and lightweight, the budget-priced Dell Latitude 3330 makes a good first impression. But it has difficulty running even the most routine multimedia—much less games—because of its bare-bones...

Review Dell Latitude 3330 Notebook

Working on a budget. For around $500 USD, the Latitude 3330 aims for students and small business users on a budget who may not want the fancy features of a typical Latitude E series model. But what else has the model sacrificed to get to that low of a...

Inexpensive, Sturdy edges and corners, Long battery life with 6-cell battery, Easily serviceable, Relatively quiet keys with deep travel, WWAN options, Matte screen and good outdoor usability, WWAN options and easily serviceability give the Latitude...

Not as rigid as the more expensive Latitude E series, Low contrast and inaccurate colors, Very small touchpad, No keyboard backlight or higher resolution options, No fingerprint reader or mSATA support, Very warm surface temperatures, Slow HDD and...

This notebook will fulfill a student's or business traveler's most basic needs, but buyers should be prepared to accept subpar performance for even routine Web multimedia.

Dell Latitude 3330: Great battery life but lousy performance

If someone tells you "Dude! You're gettin' a Dell!" in reference to the Latitude 3330, run away. Dell makes plenty of good computers, but this isn't one of them.

Editor's note: This notebook was reviewed as part of a roundup for back-to-school season. You can read that story, along with reviews of the five notebooks we compared it to, here.

Dell Latitude 3330 review

The Latitude 3330 is aimed at small businesses and schools. Is the Windows 7 machine a perfect classroom companion or obsolete?

Decent performance; Good battery life; Reasonable price

Dull design; Average screen; Middling build quality; Plenty of competition

Dell intends its Latitude 3330 for small business and education, and its reasonable performance and battery life are good enough for these markets. The screen, build quality and design are all average, though, and the Latitude isn’t any cheaper than...

Was surprised at how light this was and like the design of top which leaves a lip for you to hold onto when lifting it about.
