Dell Latitude E4200 - Pricey Competition for the Apple Macbook

Dell's new Latitude E4200 PC features a solid state drive in a tiny PC packed full of features in order to make it compete with Apple's smaller sized Macbook computers. The only problem is that this Dell costs more, and has fewer features!

Dell Latitude E4200 12.1in Ultra-Portable

An instant-on OS, excellent performance and a solid design make the E4200 one of the best ultra-portables about.

So long as you don't need an optical drive, the E4200 is an ideal option for the serious businessperson on the move.

Dell Latitude E4200

The Latitude E4200 is a well built, slim and extremely light ultraportable notebook, which comes with a slew of business features.

Slim, lightweight ; Battery life ; Business features ; ON Reader

Price

The Dell Latitude E4200 is the slimmest and lightest ultraportable notebook we compared, and we like its ON reader feature. It comes with a slew of business oriented security features at a very high premium.

Dell Latitude E4200 review

The arrival of netbooks has made many ultra-portable laptops look rather overpriced.

Dell Latitude E4200

A striking laptop that's incredibly portable and has good battery life. But the screen is a big disappointment

Dell Latitude E4200

Dell goes all glamourpuss with its latest business laptop. Tim Danton takes a look.

They just don't make business laptops like they used to. Gone are the dull grey boxes that used to typify Dell's Latitude range, to be replaced by stunning machines like this E4200. Its rich finish - a deep burgundy red in our review sample's case -...

Initially, an awesome deal.

Great laptop especially for the price, won't run games, but general browsing is no problem and boots in a flash compared to usual windows 7 systems.

Works out of the box, windows key is valid and everything. This laptop is incredibly light so it made me think that it came with some missing parts, but it boots into windows very quickly with its SSD. No scratches on the screen ; WEI is as follows ;...

Does not include any recovery CD, came saran-wrapped to a piece of cardboard in the cardboard box, so it looked pretty bad

Awesome Company

I have bought 3 laptop computer systems from Dell. I am more than 100% satisfied with my products. I have always had outstanding customer service from Dell no matter how big or small my questions. I would , and have highly recommended Dell to other...

Good, but many detractions

Needs a webcam and a larger trackpad.

I really like the small form factor and the screen. It is an excellent amalgamation of current technologies into a small form factor. Other pluses include the lack of flashy lights and the amazsing backlit keybaord. Really, the keyboard is top-notch

I hope you have small hands becuase this computer has an infuriatingly small wrist-rest section. Really, Dell? Could you have pushed the keys back another half-inch and made this thing perfect? How about a webcam while you are at it? The modern...

Too much money for too little quality

I am a long-term Dell customer and reseller. I have been faithful, but sadly, this one makes it hard for me to support. When you spend a significant amount of money, you expect it to be top quality all around. Perfomance is fine. Exterior quality is...

Lightweight

SCRATCHES, SCRATCHES, SCRATCES: I am super careful with my laptops and to discover these blemishes upon taking it out of my bag 2 days into my ownership sickened me
