Dell has joined the ranks of manufacturers who use desktop Pentium 4 chips in their notebooks. Like others in its class, the SmartPC 250N offers excellent performance at an attractive price.

Good price ; fast at running both mainstream and content-creation-type applications

Bulky and heavy ; moderate 3D graphics performance

Especially useless for multimedia production, as the P4 denormalization error kicks in when synthesizing sound and the system crashes. That is, mostly it turns itself off before that anyway.

Dell knew that this PC overheats as every type of feedback available on their Web site documents this. However they did not stop flogging it.
