Review Dell Vostro 1310 Notebook

Mobile Business. Dell's Vostro series offers robust business qual

Compact case; Robust frame thanks to magnesium alloy; User friendly Interfaces alignment; Four USB ports; Keyboard and touch pad are pleasant to use; Bright display with matte surface and thus outdoor capable; Low noise level; Low surface temperature;...

Sensitive, glossy display lid; Low contrast and viewing angle stability; Limited sound quality

Performance of the Vostro 1310 depends a lot on what the user wants to do with the notebook. The available choices range from cheap Intel Celeron processor with integrated graphics card to powerful T9500 processor also by Intel, with nVIDIA Geforce...

Dell Vostro 1310

Don't have an IT guy? No problem. Dell makes its Vostro line even better with more à la carte options, a spiffy new design, and plenty of punch to get the job done.

Solid productivity and graphics performance ; Lots of configuration options, including opting out of trialware ; Comfortable keyboard ; Sleeker design than Vostro 1400

Relatively short battery life ; No built-in mobile broadband option

The Dell Vostro 1310 has all the ingredients of a first-class small-business notebook. Its balance of price, portability, and performance, not to mention all the support and configuration options, make it a no-brainer investment.

Dell Vostro 1310 Review

When Dell launched their new Vostro line of computers last year the Vostros where immediately praised for meeting the needs of small businesses and budget-minded consumers alike. The Vostro 1310 is the newest and smallest addition to the Vostro family...

Thinner and lighter than the Vostro 1400 ; Reasonable battery life ; Nice screen and easy-to-use media buttons ; Good selection of ports ; Solid performance ; No bloatware ; Available with Windows XP ; Excellent return policy (NO restocking or shipping...

Glossy LCD lid is a magnet for fingerprints ; Chassis plastics feel too thin and hollow ; Mono speaker is painfully weak ; Uncomfortable touchpad buttons ; No S-video or HDMI port ; Price as configured is a little expensive compared to the XPS M1330

The 6-cell 58WHr Li-Ion battery provides excellent battery life for the 1310. With Vista's power management running in "high performance" mode, screen brightness set to maximum and wireless on, the 6-cell battery delivered 3 hours and 18 minutes of...

Dell Vostro 1310

The addition of the Dell Vostro 1310 ($1,258 direct) to the Vostro line is almost like bringing a supermodel into a team of geeks. Don't get me wrong—the other Vostros are far from underachievers, but they lack the style and the travel-friendliness...

Good start-up machine. Lightweight. New industrial design. Inexpensive. Multiple processor options. Discrete graphics option. Multiple battery options. No "trialware" policy

Single speaker; sounds tinny at higher volumes. Lacks options for a cellular modem

Low prices, multiple configuration options, and a "no-trialware" option should make the Dell Vostro 1310 laptop a start-up favorite.

Dell Vostro 1310 Laptop

Dell's Vostro 1310 notebook delivers what business travelers need and nothing they don't, but it could be a touch more portable.

Solid performance; subtle good looks; bright, sharp screen; no trialware

Not as compact as other 13.3-inch notebooks; terrible sound quality from built-in speaker; no modem jack; no mute button

Double your display real estate by adding a second monitor. It's a snap: Here's how

Nice Compact notebook

I am glad I added camera and fingerprint reader. individual fingers can be used to open up programs(internet browser, email, etc.) Keyboard has some differences but easy to adjust. Fan is quiet as well as hard drive and dvd. wireless upgraded to intel...

Love the size. Construction much better than expected. Price with all the upgrades included was unmatchable. Love the screen even with some glare

Waiting for a custom computer. Lit keyboard would be nice or more reflective keyboard grapics

Best Laptop Purchase

When I unpacked the laptop I wondered why it came with a cloth, but once taking the laptop out of the box I realized why. To take care of the top getting stuff all over it I simply ordered a skin for the laptop; problem solved!

I customized four different laptops with the same specs as this one and the price was always about 300 dollars more than what I paid for this one. Not to mention I have a larger battery for free

The speaker!!! This is the only complaint but had I known the laptop only had one speaker I would have decided on a different laptop because I have over 1000 songs on my computer to listen to when I am typing papers

Not bad for the price

Not a bad laptop for the price. I replaced an Inspiron 2200 and the 1310 feels much lighter. I like the old matt black better that the new gloss, and I dislike widescreen LCD's, but thats pretty much all you can get these days. Overall its a decent...

Nice features for the price. Lots of RAM, HD space, cpu for the money

Hate the high-gloss fingerprint trap. Hate the speaker. Plastic feels cheap. Slot load DVD is very clunky

not what i expected

the casing & look of this laptop needs to be refined, even though it's not expensive does not mean it has to be cheap looking.

it is available in XP Pro. nice looking when closed

cheap looking once you opened the laptop, awkward positioning of the keys in the keyboard, noisy keys, small touchpad, no mute button, to sharp corners

Consumer review by:

Affordable notebook

Try to get the anti-glare screen. I'm still having a hard time tilting the screen to reduce the glare. I hope they explain screen types more on the description section.

Lightweight

Glossy cover that attracts dusts, finger-print and dirt. Speaker, i really thought they didn't include any speaker because i can't hear anything. Driver upgrade helped a bit
