Review Dell Vostro 1540 Notebook

Basic. Dell now has a 15.6 inch laptop made for corporate use called Vostro 1540 available. The device is not up-to-date with an Intel Core i3-370M processor. It's supposed to be a simple typewriter for smart savers. The price starts at 369 euros plus...

Matt screen surface; Easy to access RAM module; Acceptable scope of interfaces; Noise and heat development

Boring design made of plastic; Build quality, haptics; Case stability; No HDD maintenance cover; Interface positioning; Only 12 months warranty at Dell's; Average display rates; Old hardware inside; Short battery life

A more solid, more stable and haptically more pleasant case and a better 15.6 inch screen

HORRID TO THE MAX

having owner 9 different computers i have never seen anything remotely close to being as bad as a dell vostro. it is extraordinarily slow in doing everything from booting to using. the touchpad is eerily unresponsive. scrolling is virtually a no-go,...

Don't buy it

Its very slow. I would recommend to avoid it. I bought latitude (which I had no problem) before buying the vostro. It was a big mistake. The network card is very slow. The speaker volume is very low.

Very useful

This makes the 5th computer that I have purchased from MacConnection and have had excellent satisfaction with them. They are a very good company to do business with.

Awful Laptop

I was quite dismayed with this laptop. Having purchased two other Dell's in the past, I didn't see a need to worry about what I was getting myself into this time. When I first received my laptop just two days ago, I was impressed by the look of the...

Good deal

Ive bad experiences with HP, so it's good to find a reliable alternative.

This machine runs fast and is quiet. I was SHOCKED when i started it up to find it was almost completely absent of bloatware/crapware

Like a previous review said, the touchpad seems delayed. It dont matter because I use a mounse with it anyways

Plain Vanilla

Above poster is on drug$ or wrote a review for the wrong laptop. It does not have a lit keyboard, the keys feels the same as any other laptop i have used, and it does not have a fingerprint scanner! I also would not consider a laptop with an i3 cpu and...

A value considering the specs ; I like the matte black finish

no USB 3.0 ; Why load win 7 x64 on a 3GB RAM system?? Meh, Dell ; Touch Pad seems slow to respond. Like its a half second behind. Hopefully a driver update will fix it ; Standard crapware / bloatware too. Thats why its only $400
