Review Dell XPS 15 FHD Notebook

Ambitious Glossy-Screened Gamer. Finally, the XPS 15 has gotten

Good Graphics Performance; Excellent Application Performance; Good Placement of Ports; Comfortable Keyboard, Precise Touchpad; Bright Screen with Broad Color Space; Supports 3D Video for 3D-Capable External Monitor/TV

Loud and Hot Under Heavy Use; Short Battery Life Under Heavy Use; Reflective Screen

15-inch laptops with mid-range graphics cards, such as the HD 5650 from ATI. If you don't want to go without the broad color space and full HD screen, then the large XPS Studio 16 and the Sony Vaio VPC-F13Z1/E are good choices. The MacBook Pro 15 is...

Dell XPS 15 Review

After the success of its super-slim XPS 13, Dell decided to apply the same treatment to its line of premium 15-inch notebooks, and it's a formula that works marvelously. On the XPS 15 (starting at $999), Dell offers the brilliant aluminum and carbon...

Sleek and slim design; Attractive aluminum and carbon fiber body; Roomy touchpad; 1080p model gets over 10 hours of battery life; Optional super-sharp UHD touch screen; Optional Nvidia GPU

UHD model has significantly worse battery life; Color temp on the UHD model's screen is off; Awkward webcam location

Dell's XPS 15 combines style and speed using a slick design, resulting in a premium 15-inch system that's a joy to use.

Review: Dell XPS 15 Touch

Dell's XPS line is one of the most venerable in computing. It dates to 1993, and even now continues pushing high-end computing performance in a (reasonably) portable platform.

Fantastic performance. Best of breed touchscreen, with next-to-no bezel. Great touchpad. Ready to take us into our USB-C future

Prone to crashes; At press time, the unit is frozen in the middle of restoring to factory settings and is unable to complete the operation. Fairly awful keyboard. Expensive

High-end power remains widely available in the 15-inch laptop form factor, so pricing is likely to be another significant factor for purchasers considering the category. Starting at $1,600 for the touchscreen version (the model I tested costs $2,100),...

Dell XPS 15 (2014) Review

This high-end multimedia notebook features a remarkable Quad HD+ screen, an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis and excellent performance. This is our take.

Gorgeous display ; Excellent build quality ; Good touchpad ; High performance ; Good battery life

Keyboard layout needs improvement ; Gets warm under heavy workloads

The XPS 15 is an impressive premium 15.6-inch notebook that we’re happy to recommend. Its Quad HD+ (3200 x 1800) display has outstanding picture quality; no corners were cut with the lightweight (4.44 lbs) aluminum and carbon fiber construction; it has...

Dell XPS 15 Haswell Edition: QHD+ with a Refined Design

Last year one of the better Windows laptops I encountered, at least based on the core appearance and design, was the Dell XPS 15 (Ivy Bridge Edition). It was basically Dell's third attempt at making a MacBook Pro (more or less) – the first two attempts...

At the end of the day, what can be said about the XPS 15 is that it’s a great looking laptop and on paper it checks all the right boxes. In practice, I’ll be frank and state that it’s been a bit of a love/hate relationship with the XPS 15, but the hate...

Dell's latest incarnation of its XPS 15 high-end notebook is the type of laptop dreams are made of.

Great all-around performance ; Excellent QHD display ; Great battery life ; Slim and attractive chassis

Keyboard is a little stiff ; Expensive

What's not to like? The XPS 15 delivers gaming power with Ultrabooks looks. Yeah, it's pricey, but consider all you're getting for the money.

Dell XPS 15 ( Fall 2013)

That said, the newly revamped XPS 15, from Dell's high-end product line, is a spectacular laptop, matching the premium features of Apple's also-excellent 15-inch MacBook Pro almost blow for blow.

The Dell XPS 15 has a better-than-HD display, decent casual-gaming chops, and a slim, lightweight 15-inch body.

Painfully expensive for a boring design and midlevel graphics, and going SSD-only drives the price up even more. Battery life falls short for an ultrabook-style system.

The Dell XPS 15 takes on Apple's MacBook Pro with Retina Display in almost every category, even beating it in a few. But for such a hefty investment, a design overhaul is in order.

Dell XPS 15 review: Dell XPS 15

The latest revamp of Dell's Inspiron and XPS laptops continues to move in the right direction, clearly inspired by the growth of Apple's MacBooks and the push toward thinner, snazzier ultrabook-style laptops.

The new Dell XPS 15 has an appealing minimalist design, solid construction, and powerful components.

There are only a handful of preconfigured builds available, and the more powerful options get very expensive. It's also too heavy for regular commuting.

You can get similar components to our Core i7 Dell XPS 15 configuration for less, but the rock-solid design makes this feel like a premium machine.

Dell XPS 15 (Summer 2012)

Familiar-looking design

This latest incarnation of the Dell XPS 15 boasts a refined, if not entirely original, design and impressive performance.
