lasted less than 4 months

The only thing worse is the dell customer support. Within 3.5 months the power cord started dropping out the back of the laptop. this laptop is always plugged in and stays in a bedroom, so the cord is not constatly in and out. when i called dell i was told i needed a new cord as well as, are you ready?, a new motherboard. huh?? i have been through this with dell before with an inspiron whose motherboard blew out. that computer was also under warranty and they sent a tech with a refurb mothboard to my house. he took apart my computer and when he was done there were still screws on the table..ps the computer never worked right again and dell was no help. back to this computer , so they want to replace the motherboard and the cord on a 4 month computer. I don't want it. I spent 1 hour and three min being passed around and transferrred until i was finally cut off while waiting for customer care so i could explain again that i wanted to return the computer for a credit and purchase a different laptop rather than have my new laptop gutted by an incompetent, and loaded with refurb parts. after more than two hours my cordless phone battery nearly died and i got no where. we'll see if the tech contacts me or the escalation team. still waiting for a call back from 5 years ago. i should learn my lesson and ditch dell. fyi the warranty only means dell will replace defective parts with refurb parts. judging by the wait time when you call for help, lots of people need help which tells you about the quality of the product

Review Dell XPS 15 (L521X) Notebook

Light and dark. The new Dell XPS 15 seeks to dethrone the Apple M

Exemplary processing; Excellent input devices; High contrast and brightness display; High performance; Extensive equipment; Detailed Owner's Manual; Good speakers; SSD cache

Mirrored Screen Surface; Average Webcam; Expensive; Throttling in games

There are no doubts that the Apple MacBook Pro 15 is the main competition of the XPS 15. Other exclusive 15-inch competitors are also offered by Sony (Vaio S-Serie 15) and Asus (N56VZ). Gamers should choose gaming notebooks such as the Schenker A502,...

Dell XPS 15z Review

Today, we revisit the Dell XPS 15z in a slightly different configuration. The XPS 15z carries with it the same DNA as the XPS 15, but the excess fat has been trimmed down a bit to give the notebook a very sleek and streamlined look. This is the premium...

This particular configuration of the Dell XPS 15z will set you back by Rs.84,900, which makes it quite expensive and definitely a premium notebook. Having said that, we will say that you won’t be disappointed with this notebook. The design, finish and...

Review Dell XPS 15z Notebook

The good years are past. Dell has put its XPS range on a diet and re-places the result as the XPS z-series. You wouldn't quite believe that it is a successor of the exclusive Adamo, which was considered to be an opponent of the MacBook Air at the time....

Successful design; High-end materials; Good connectivity and positioning; Good display brightness and contrast; Solid performance reserves; Good battery life

Loud hard disk; High temperatures and noise during load; Moderate speaker quality ; Irremovably built-in battery

If Dell didn't translate it this way, you would never, ever conclude that the XPS 15z is even somehow related to the Dell Adamo XPS

Ambitious Glossy-Screened Gamer. Finally, the XPS 15 has gotten

Good Graphics Performance; Excellent Application Performance; Good Placement of Ports; Comfortable Keyboard, Precise Touchpad; Bright Screen with Broad Color Space; Supports 3D Video for 3D-Capable External Monitor/TV

Loud and Hot Under Heavy Use; Short Battery Life Under Heavy Use; Reflective Screen

Dell XPS 15 Touch Review

Dell's XPS laptops have long been the Cadillacs of the market. Expensive, luxurious, and powerful, there's no mistaking an XPS for a lesser system. Yet, there's also a lingering, and sometimes unfair, sense that the line is second-best.

Attractive and well-built ; Excellent performance ; Good battery life ; Four USB ports ; Quiet at idle

Sub-par display quality ; 3200x1800 display saps the GPU’s power in games ; Runs hot and loud at load

Extremely quick and built with precision, the XPS 15 falls short of greatness because of its display.

Dell XPS 15 Haswell Edition: QHD+ with a Refined Design

Last year one of the better Windows laptops I encountered, at least based on the core appearance and design, was the Dell XPS 15 (Ivy Bridge Edition). It was basically Dell's third attempt at making a MacBook Pro (more or less) – the first two attempts...

At the end of the day, what can be said about the XPS 15 is that it’s a great looking laptop and on paper it checks all the right boxes. In practice, I’ll be frank and state that it’s been a bit of a love/hate relationship with the XPS 15, but the hate...

Dell XPS 15 (9530)

With its brilliant screen and serious components, the luxury-minded Dell XPS 15 (9530) is Dell's showcase PC meant to go up against high-end laptop offerings. Unfortunately, its price and battery life keep it from taking the top spot.

Resolution is 3,200 by 1,800 (QHD+). Quad-core CPU, mid-tier enthusiast GPU. Has 802.11ac & Bluetooth 4.0. Comes with 12 months of McAfee LiveSafe. Premium look and materials

Reflective screen. No built-in Ethernet. Some UI elements can be tiny. USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 ports are both black

The Dell XPS 15 (9530) is a high-end desktop replacement laptop, and that's a funny place to be. While, yes, you could buy a less expensive laptop to do many of the same tasks, systems like the XPS 15 (9530) are simultaneously PC tools and showcases...

Dell's latest incarnation of its XPS 15 high-end notebook is the type of laptop dreams are made of.

Great all-around performance ; Excellent QHD display ; Great battery life ; Slim and attractive chassis

Keyboard is a little stiff ; Expensive

What's not to like? The XPS 15 delivers gaming power with Ultrabooks looks. Yeah, it's pricey, but consider all you're getting for the money.
