DeskNote A929 Athlon XP 1500+

The battery-free A929 looks like a notebook but behaves like a desktop. If you don't mind the compromises, it will save you desktop space while being somewhat portable.

Budget price, fast USB 2.0 ports; FireWire port; user-upgradable processor, memory and hard drive

Spongy keyboard; fan noise; bulky; no PC Card slots

Very small desktop or bulky notebook? The Desknote A929 defies categorisation to deliver a powerful package at a low price--if you're ready to live with some compromises, that is.

DeskNote A929 (i-Buddie XP) (Athlon XP 1500+, 128MB RAM)

Very small desktop or bulky notebook? The Desknote A929 defies categorisation to deliver a powerful hybrid at a low price. But recentprice drops of full notebooks have lessened its budget appeal.

Budget price, fast USB 2.0 ports ; FireWire port ; user-upgradable processor, memory and hard drive ; powerful speakers

Spongy keyboard ; fan noise ; bulky ; no PC Card slots
