ECS Green 732 (Pentium 4 1.7GHz, 256MB RAM)

ECS has again delivered a machine with a mix of highs and lows: Great graphics power contained in a very bulky, noisy machine. While execs should stay away, students and gamers will love the ECS Green 732.

Low priced ; powerful graphics performance ; excellent high-resolution LCD panel

Noisy fan ; very bulky ; squishy plastics ; ho-hum battery life

desktop replacement (and not to be moved around)

Clean the fan. I have it myself before, and after being cleaned, laptop works just fine (though still so hot)hope that helps! (and can anyone help me with the broken power-slot and monitor?)

Problems Problems

I have been impressed on the whole with is performance but as the machine gets older, problems with overheating seems to become more and more of a problem. Battery lasts little more that an hour and now my computer shuts down 9 or 10 times a day....

Noisy but effective

Computer is very loud. Computer overheats with high-powered applications. Not really a laptop - more of a desktop than anything else. Battery life is no good. Computer is okay for its price i guess.

Great performance for the price

I have had a G732 for two years. It has heat issues and it is very noisy. However, I paid less than half of what an equivalent notbook would cost from HP or Dell. The craftmanship on the frame is somewhat shoddy, and I have sent it in twice for repairs. T
