Good Machine

Small HDD, the loaded software including vista was bogging up the machine, and made it extremely slow.

EVEREX NC1503 NoteBook VIA C7-M 1.50GHz 15.4" Wide XGA 512MB Memory DDR2 533 60GB HDD 5400rpm Dual layer DVD Burner VIA Chrome 9 HC IGP

This will NOT run WoW, of FEAR or Stalker like a previous poster wrote. It will however with some extra ram, run Vista well. Its not a gaming laptop. If you want that check the Everex XT5000T. Best bang for buck on the planet.

Price, upgradability

Nice second laptop

I bought this to replace an old desktop used primarily for web surfing and email. For that purpose, it works fine. It is very slow to load Vista even with an extra 512MB of RAM, but works OK the intended purpose. I don't like the keyboard (keys have...

Inexpensive. Nice screen. Low power consumption

Centos5works great on this PC

Added 1GB RAM before looking at Vista - still a bit slow but useable. DVD playback smooth with some disks bit jumpy with others. Open office firefox and thunderbird all pretty good on this PC. Switched to Centos 4.5 and it worked well - tried Centos...

Price and great display ; WiFi works great

A bit slow with Vista (with 1.5GB) - smooth and quick with Centos 5.0 ; Battery life a bit short ; Centos5 note:- will not boot from a good boot DVD but boots fine from CD

Great PCLinux Laptop

Do yourself a favor install PCLINUX from [its a free download] or order a ready made copy. Then turn this unit into a REALLY FAST laptop. You will be very surprised at just how fast this copumter can be.

This unit is 100% operating system compatable; Free download of PCLINUX, and with the extra 500meg combo deal "The unit really flys"...Great display, light weight, long battery life, really fast linux computer

Windows Visa runs very, very slooooow. Even with the extra 500 meg=total 1 gig makes very little difference. Vista is not the operating system for this computer

nice budgetnotebook

The notebook works fine, but I was sold an open box, listed as new… I noticed slight scratches, and some of the Cyberlink 30 day trial software was expired upon me trying to use it for the 1st time (apparently "Clair" was the previous owner) but aside...

Price, nice display

Like everyone else has said you have to upgrade the ram to make it usable with vista, I maxed it out to 2 GB, and now it runs pretty good
