Everex StepNote SA2053T

The Everex StepNote SA2053T has hideous battery life, but at $899 (as of 6/6/07), it costs half as much as most ultraportables. It also looks good and handles e-mail and Web applications just fine.

Affordable ultraportable, Good overall design

Terrible battery life, No bundled software

If you can tolerate the short battery life, this inexpensive ultraportable is a super choice.

Everex StepNote SA2053T

If you are looking for a small lightweight laptop this is probably your best option. At a price under US600 the Everex Stepnote 2053T is the best alternative in its class with only 3.8 pounds and a 12.1" crisp display with not dead pixels in my...

Inexpensive. Small Size. Lightweight. Intel Core Duo Processor. Good connectivity. Excellent Screen

Poor battery Life (Compensated by additional included battery). Memory is not expandable. USB ports all located on the right side. Not Printed Manual just a Startguide

Everex StepNote SA2053T

FYI to Sayart: It should be just as illegal for Everex to void your warranty for a memory upgrade as it was for Asus to do that with the EEE PC. It is a violation of the Moss-Magnuson Act (US federal law - n/a if you are not in the US). After that...

Everex StepNote SA2053T

The price is very competitive for a 12.1", dual-core laptop. However, it does not come with many software. In fact, it only provides 1 recovery CD. Be prepared to buy additional software as you may need. The cooling fan is a little bit noisy, on and...

Great price performance. Had no issues with this, and it installs Linux and Solaris Nevada for x86 platforms, which is what I do software development in most of the time. I haven't experienced the battery life problems or lack of software bundled. I...

Great Laptop

Overall, it was well worth the money. I'm waiting for my warranty to run out, so I can pull the laptop apart and paint it blue.

Small size, battery lasts quite a while, and pretty quiet. It hasn't had any stability issues, bad pixels, and it barely warms up ; It's quite powerful for regular work, but don't expect to game on this ; You get 2 batteries with it, but the lower...

USB ports are on the right side, which is a pretty poor location ; The card reader is a bit deep. When putting a sony memory stick in, it sits flush with the laptop. Minor inconvience when taking the stick out ; Has Vista Home Premium with Aero...
