Everex StepNote XT5000T

A laptop with a 17-inch wide screen for only $899 seems too good to be true--and in this case, it just might be. Though the Everex StepNote XT5000T has decent features and would make a nice computer for the kids, it lacks speed and keyboard comfort.

Tempting price, Can hold two hard drives

Problematic keyboard, Sluggish speed

If you're a two-finger typist on a budget, check out this desktop replacement.

Everex StepNote XT5000T Review

This Everex isn't a powerhouse, but it offers a big screen on a budget.

Low price, Bright screen, Decent graphics

Low-res screen, Truncated keyboard layout, Mediocre performance

Everex StepNote XT5000T

This notebook has a few quirks but offers fantastic value for the price. The graphics card is what separates this notebook from others in it's price range. When I bought mine you'd have to spend at least $1200-$1400 for a similarly configured...

Great screen and image quality, great sound quality (there is a subwoofer in addition to 2 standard speakers. The Nvidia 7600 Go card is much better than what you will find in other sub-$1200 notebook

slightly odd keyboard - use sharpkeys to reprogram, runs slightly hot - use rmclock to undervolt, a second stick of RAM is cheap and really improves it's speed, very active forums for more tips

Everex StepNote XT5000T

It's an all around great laptop. Make sure you can handle a 17" laptop before you purchase cause it's pretty bulky. Recommend buying this while they are still available, who knows how long they will be able to offer this great package at such a low price.

This laptop is insane for what you pay for it. It plays all the latest games and it's built from high quality components for the most part. The screen is great, very bright and vibrant. Processor is f

Recommend upgrading to 2gb of ram if you are going to keep windows vista. Keyboard layout is kinda goofy, has 3 \ buttons, but its something you get used to. Not very portable

Everex StepNote XT5000T

Overall, i've had my XT5000T for a little over a month and found that its done a great job replacing my old desktop. The big, bright screen is absolutely beautiful and the multimedia playback is really nice if you like to watch DVDs or video. There's...

Beautiful screen, nice speaker sound, DVI out lets you hook-up to your TV

Crazy keyboard

Uh... Wow

This is an absolutely amazing computer.

The keyboard is the only issue, and a small one at that.

Honestly, if you want a cpu that can watch high quily movies, listen to music with 3Mw subwoofer, and play games with stunning graphics and performance than this is the computer for you.

the keyboard is defently odd, but the keys are non-stick.
