As prices on big-screen notebooks continue to drop, good desktop replacements like the Fujitsu LifeBook N6420 are becoming as affordable as many mainstream laptops. This well-designed model comes with some nice features, but if decent battery life is...

Dazzling screen ; Fingerprint reader is also scroll button

Bulky ; Awful battery life

The feature-laden N6420 has a beautiful screen and can handle a second hard drive, but it's bulky and has poor battery life.

Fujitsu LifeBook N6420

With its HD DVD drive and Core 2 Duo processor, the Fujitsu LifeBook N6420 tries to compete with the titans of the Media Center laptop market.

Fast processor. Offers an HD DVD-ROM drive.

No HDMI or DVI output ports. TV tuner card no longer comes standard. Minuscule battery life. Enormous frame.

Fujitsu LifeBook N6420 review: Fujitsu LifeBook N6420

Includes HD-DVD drive and Core 2 Duo processor; full keyboard with number pad; cheaper than many other HD-DVD laptops.

Poor battery life; visual optimizer function didn't deliver; could use more RAM and a faster hard drive; lacks DVI-out port.

The Fujitsu LifeBook N6420 is one of the cheaper HD-DVD laptops out there, and it delivers a fine multimedia experience, but its weak battery life means you'll have to keep it anchored to a wall outlet to get through even a single movie.

Fujitsu Lifebook N6420

There are usually several forces involved in making the ideal Media Center laptop. Not the least is having the kind of features that distinguish it as a full-fledged entertainment system. With the imposing 10-pound frame and 17-inch widescreen of its...

Fujitsu LifeBook N6420 Review

I personally own a two year old Fujitsu Lifebook N6210, which has been great for all of my work and school purposes, it is still going very strong.  I remain very happy with my original purchase.  I have also used Fujitsu's tech support a few times,...

The only other thing I would like to say is that while the XGA+ resolution is perfectly adequate for this size of screen, some people would like to be able to choose a larger resolution such as a 1680x1050 resolution. So the native resolution is fine,...
