Gateway CX200

This Tablet PC has a nice wide-screen display, but it's heavy and sluggish.

Nice widescreen for a tablet

Pricey and heavy

Although a very heavy tablet, the CX200 can be among the least expensive available and a good notebook. Go for the $1099 configuration (plus the $44 high-capacity battery); much lighter tablets are available on the high end.

Gateway's CX200X thinks big

The monster wide-screen CX200X tablet has the features and the price to match its large size.

Wide screen; tablet functionality; great performance.

Too big for regular mobile use; reflective screen; short battery life.

Far heavier than traditional convertible tablets, the wide-screen Gateway CX200X adds pen functionality to a powerful midsize notebook.

Gateway CX200

This is a powerful 14-inch widescreen notebook that converts into a tablet.

Powerful components. Widescreen. Plenty of battery options. Good graphics. Comfortable digitizer pen.

Heavy. Slight delay using the pen.

For those itching to give tablets a try but unwilling to sacrifice power, the Gateway CX200 may be the answer. It's a powerful, sharp-looking tablet.
