Gateway EC Series EC1433u Cherry Red Intel Celeron M 743(1.30GHz) 11.6" 2GB Memory 250GB HDD Netbook

When installing a linux distro on this, if you get a Kernel panic (DMAR hardware is malfunctioning), add intel_iommu=off to the kernel boot arguments (via GRUB). Once installed, make sure to update to latest kernel version (it should resolve this problem)

I wouldn't say this is a netbook, but more of a subnotebook to be honest. It's certainly small, yes, but it still packs a good punch for its size. Peripheral ports abound (VGA and HDMI being big pluses here). Spacious hard drive, plenty of memory, good...

None really. Although if you want to use the Windows install on it, get ready to spend some time cleaning up all the bloatware

Love the color, better than other Netbooks I've seen online and at stores. Very light in weight. I would recommend this to a friend. As a matter of fact I'm probably going to get another one for my wife. I havent had issues with the flat keyboard. It's...

This netbook has an HDMI and VGA output for connecting to an HDTV or monitor. The netbook also has a toslink/digital output. It has plenty of RAM and HDD space. It also comes with Windows 7 Home, unlike other netbooks that only have Windows 7 starter....

Noticed that there is a bluetooth icon on the keyboard that doesnt work. The hardware is probably not installed. Its ok because the specs didnt mention anything about the netbook having bluetooth. The price is a little bit higher than other standard...

Great little machine

I am just overall satisfied with this purchase.

Light. Not a 10 inch netbook and still more than adequate (in the sense of light, but has a more substantial processor and version of Windows). I bought this computer as a second computer to do non-intensive things like email, internet browsing,...

I personally don't like the feel of the keyboard. All flat keys. I tend to miss the keys I want (I can touch type). But, keyboards are a very personal thing. Others may find it to be okay

Awesome Netbook

Wife needed a new laptop and we settled on going with a light weight netbook. Almost every netbook had either Win 7 Starter (bleh) or XP Home (yuck) and typically limited resolution so there's lots of scrolling about to see web pages. So for a few...

Light weight, superior screen resolution, full Windows 7. Essentially provides a full laptop experience in a feather weight package. A real step up from the typical budget Netbook

If you have eyesight issues, this could be a little tough to use

Nice

Bought this for my wife after our dog killed the power connection on her old laptop. It's perfect for watching movies, facebooking, surfing the web. Typically she uses it from 5PM until 11PM all on battery and it could go for another hour or two...

Screen Resolution & Size (11.6" at 1366 x 768) - The difference in resolution makes it so you don't have to scroll left to right to see full webpages ; Battery Life +/- 6 Hours ; Full Size Keyboard ; 250GB Hard Drive ; Windows 7 64Bit

Flat keys take some getting used to ; Gateway software - bogs down the laptop - msconfig and uninstall takes care of most of it ; Doesn't come with a bag

Wow

Overall I'm very pleased with it.

Very quick for a netbook solid design ; bigger screen than most netbooks ; and windows 7

Sometimes my finger will slide off the imput buttons for the mouse movement they should have left more room ; The gateway software caused it to hang and I had to do a hardboot. And it comes with norton and other bloatware

Extremely pleased

All in all, I really can't complain about this netbook. Great performance, great price.

Nice keyboard, clear crisp screen, great looking. Runs nearly as well and as fast as my desktop. Windows 7 is a plus! Really an all-round full-featured netbook. I love it

The speakers are somewhat tinny and weak, shows fingerprints due to the glossy finish on the outside, didn't come with any sort of a cover/pouch

Great Netbook

I bought the Asus Eee PC 1008HA through Newegg for a gift and I liked the netbook so much that I decided to order myself one. Luckily when I ordered mine a week later, Windows 7 was released and available for netbooks. This makes this netbook standout...

This netbook has a great picture, Windows 7 has convinced me to update my desktop, light weight, and everything I need for basic internet, email, and music

The screen dims when plugged into charge, which I'm sure there is a setting somewhere that will fix this, I also wish it would have came with a softshell case like the Asus does, Gateway tends to overload their computers with unwanted software, not...

Gateway EC1433U 11.6-Inch laptop

I'm not usually a fan of Gateway or Dell computers, because I absolutely detest their customer support centers which are a giant pain to navigate, not only through their automated system, but actually talking to someone who speaks English and knows...
