Dead after 1 year

I loved this laptop - while it worked. For $2000+ I expect it to last more than 1 year. Since two of these went bad on me in just over 1 year, I cannot recommend this to anyone.

Great combination of power and portability. I can take this in the job when traveling and it looks professional, then game with it at night.

poor build quality. First one battery died in 2 weeks. Replacement lasted just over 1 year, and now appears to be toast.

Portable gaming power house

I returned my GS60 pro with 970M for this machine after some research. I never would have imagined a flagship GPU can be packed into such a thin laptop. The gaming performance is as close as you can get to a gaming desktop with added benefits of...

-GTX 980M with 8GB of vram -Very thin and portable for a machine that packs such a punch - Pretty good battery life compared to rivals in the same class (eg. MSI GS60 series)

-Not sure why windows 7 came pre-installed instead of windows 8.1. You can choose to install windows 8.1 with the included disc. - Okay speakers - CPU throttling when gaming in 3k

Super thin gaming laptop

It's small and can get pretty warm when doing serious gaming. But the screen is great for photoshop work and since I'm not a serious gamer, it's nice to have that NVidia 980m on tap when I really need it. I've seen a lot of complaints about keyboard...

Subtle gaming rig ; Slim form factor ; Battery life when not gaming ; 3k screen ; Hot-swappable CD Drive ; keyboard feel

Getting used to slim form factor ; No Blu-Ray drive

Great Case

This laptop is not a perfect specimen of a ultraportable gaming laptop, but gets pretty close in some aspects. If all you want is the thinnest and lightest laptop with a GTX980M, you won't be disappointed. However, be mindful of the mediocre battery...

3K display: text is amazingly crisp, as this is almost Retina level resolution ; Best mobile GPU you can buy, the GTX980M. This also means you can actually run some games in 3K resolution ; Plenty of RAM and storage ; Decently fast CPU ; Amazingly thin...

3K display: need to upgrade to Windows 8 to get better DPI scaling, and even then many programs are still ugly. This isn't the laptop's fault, but it's still something to watch out for ; Very loud fans: when gaming, it sounds like a jet engine. If...
