Consumer review (newegg.com)

Great laptop, for the money, but.

For the money, the laptop is a great deal price to performance (Not at the MSRP of $1,399.99, but at the sale price of $949).

Computer is pretty fast, and you get some pretty top end components for the price ; Build feels nice to the touch, doesn't feel cheap or flimsy ; (except for the touchpad, which was stick out past the chassis for some odd reason, which I had to push...

Regarding the touchpad, it feels sort of cheap. At certain times, the touchpad will stick all the way to the bottom depending on where you press it, which will cause it to become useless, as it would be impossible for it to register clicks (tap to...

GIGABYTE P35Gv2-CF1

I absolutely love this laptop. I bought two Crucial CT256M550SSD3 256GB mSata's and have them in the mobo's "Raid 0"setting, in 2 arrays. I have three Operating systems running : Windows 7x64, Windows 8.1x64 on the first array, and Ubuntu Mate 15.04...

Thin ; Two mSata slots ; RAID option in Bios settings ; Backlit Keyboard ; DVD burner/player ; 4 slots for hard drive/storage

gets a little warm, but normal everyday use it's to be expected for this hardware setup

Great Laptop for the Money!

I removed the hard drive and replaced it with a Samsung 850 Pro SSD 256G and then installed Windows 8.1 64 bit as my main drive. The main drive also boots Ubuntu Linux 64 bit 12.04. I then installed Windows 10 on the 120G SSD Card. All works great....

When I bought the laptop I was not sure exactly of the configuration of the drives. It came with an SSD card and a hard drive inside. The operating system comes installed on the 120G SSD Card and the 1T hard drive is empty. The pleasant surprised by...

The unit I got has a very slight ripple in the keyboard upper left. I thought about gluing it down at the seam, but decided against it as I would probably mess it up or worse. Anyway it does not bother me at all when I type. Also, I did not notice it...

Fast light laptop

I replaced a 7 year old Alienware with the Gigabyte laptop. The keyboard isn't up to Alienware standards but it is ok. The fast boot up times are great and it has enough horsepower to run any game or spreadsheet that I want to run. I just hope this...

Lightweight and thin ; Fast, good graphics card ; Easy to add another SSD ; Exchangable DVD drive

Yes this thing does show fingerprints and palm prints but that is a minor annoyance ; I had one small issue when I got the laptop. The windows 8 key had already been used by someone else but a call to Gigabyte and then to Microsoft fixed the issue....

Great gaming laptop for the proce

I almost sent this guy back because the 860m disappeared from device manager after I installed Windows update. Turns out a BIOS update is needed, so do that right away after you get it.

Thin, Affordable, great performance

BIOS update required or else 860m stops working shortly after updates, loud fans (but this is to be expected from a laptop with a decent gpu)

Great Laptop, Superb Price

Overall, as you can see, I talked about the positive and negative sides of the laptop. For me, what it came down to was knowing that no laptop is perfect, and if there is a perfect laptop it is probably 2000$. So for the features I would get, it was...

Like many people have already mentioned, its super thin and light ; The main reasons I got this laptop ; 1)128 GB SSD drive and 1TB HD. So now my programs load super fast and I still have lots of storage for my files ; 2) Display Panel. Newegg states...

The only thing holding me back from buying this laptop was knowing that the 860m GPU was a Kepler version and not Maxwell. So I did A LOT of research about this. However, in the end I bought it and here is why ; 1) Basically, for most tasks the nvidia...

Love it

I bought this as a mobile work station since it has better hardware than a mac pro and is cheaper. I am a graphic designer and run all the adobe creative suite programs very smoothly. i also do some minor gaming but nothing super intense. it is noisy...

Thin, light, hardware, the extra HDD port and removable DVD drive is very clever

A great value

I got this on shell shocker for $999. For that price it was a steal. I use this computer for video editing/after effects as well as some gaming. It excels in both, it's fast and responsive. Also the ability to have 4 hard drives is very important for...

Great specs for the price ; Video card has 4mb of DDR5, most laptops in the same range have only 2mb DD3. This makes a difference in performance ; The ability of installing up to 4 hard drives ; Comes with one SSD from factory. This also makes a huge...

This thing gets HOT. It will burn your lap ; It's a fingerprint/smudge magnet. Literally after owning it for just ONE day, it was filthy looking already ; Keyboard feels plasticy, (although it's easy to type on, doesn't look very durable, just an...

Good laptop. Gigabyte still needs to do some work

This is my first "high-end" laptop. Previously, I had a super sketchy Acer laptop.(Acer makes good laptops, mine was just a low-end one)

Thin ; Specs are good for the price ; A lot of storage expandability ; Very little keyboard flex

My number one complaint about this laptop is the noise when gaming. You could not game on this in a library, but in a social setting with other people making noise, it could be done. The laptop doesn't really make much noise when unplugged, or on...

Works for me

My main gripe is with Windows 8.1.. Not with Gigabyte.. if you want a decent gaming laptop with lots of storage very little bloatware.. This is a good deal. If you reimage wth Windows 7 pro.. A great deal

I bought this laptop on a shell shocker for $999. I wanted a laptop with a nice SSD and a 1tb Hd that i could play Dragon Age Inquisition on..After quite a bit of work That is what i have. Great boot up speed, Quiet even when vid card fans are...

The only real MAJOR con is Windows 8.1.. Dragon Age Fingerprint and smudge magnet...Inquisition will only run in "windowed" mode using Windows 8.1,, I searched the EA games and NIVidia boards for a resolution..None was found.. not too much of a con...
