A stunning budget number from the number one notebook seller

Superb value ; Satisfyingly well built ; Comfortable to use

Stingy memory ; Lacking in raw power

It may have a low system spec but it's cheap and has excellent usability

Great for a budget laptop

I bought this for my girlfriend. Its perfect for the light works she does; MS office/web browsing/media playback. The upgrade to 2 GB is a must!!! Vista needs it.

I bought the 1gb model of this for 500bux and just added another 1gb for 16bux. Comes with vista business (don't really know if that's a good thing). No dead pixels, screeen is clear and vibrant, big HDD, DVD Burner, Wifi, Interesting touch pad. Cool...

The construction is a little lacking, I can hear it creak when it is flexed slightly, battery life could be better, two USB ports, one speaker rather than the usual two. No XP downgrade option :(, power connection is oddly placed (could have been...

HP 530

Like I said above, great laptop and for the price point I couldn't beat it. The above cons aside, I would still buy this machine again. The hardware is top notch and considering in the same price tag were a couple acers and everex, Ill take an hp over...

Good solid competitively priced laptop. Excellent screen, Intel graphics card is solid and runs all accelerated applications flawlessly(I can not speak to computer games as system is currently using a Linux Flavor) Integrated wireless and simplistic...

1. Comes with a broadcom wireless device... for you linux users think an hour finding and installing drivers with ndis wrapper ; 2. PC Card slot is awfully small so no double sized pc cards ; 3. No toggle switch to turn off touch pad ; 4. No built in...

Decent no-frills business laptop

For my company's needs this is an excellent work horse. For me personally, I would like more built-in interface options but at the Newegg price I purchased, I am fully satisfied. I love the fact that the computer is not littered with the usual OEM...

Clean, non-gimmicky design and keyboard layout ; Windows Vista Business (i.e. automatic license for XP "upgrade") ; Minimal Trial-/Nag-/Adware installed ; Full complement of drivers for XP and Vista available from HP ; Excellent screen ; Wireless...

only 2 USB ports (theoretically one can more interface options via PC card), and only on the left side. A third port one the right side would have been great ; Fan runs pretty frequently even under little load (could possibly be listed under Pros....

Great for the price

fast, dual core, 1gb ram, wide screen. i could ask for more. it gets all my work done and is light for the size. wireless picks up some signal like nothing

Come with vista, I switched to XP pro. Hp had all the drivers for xp on their website ; Power adapter went dead after 2 weeks and don't know why

First laptop, love it

I LOVE this laptop. I never had one before, and this is great. When I ordered this, I also ordered an extra gig of ram to bring it to 2 gig. It's zippy enough for me. I only really use it for playing around on the net, my son uses it for his little...

None yet! Battery life is kind of short, but I usually plug it in as I'm using it

not bad for word processing

I wish it would come with the driver installers for the parts, since you paid for the parts, it would make sense to have the drivers to make them function. Right now if you uninstall Vista (which most of us end up doing) you have to do the driver hunt...

cheap in comparison to most laptops. Works as expected. I like the dimpled sensor pad. I only bought this laptop to do some writing so it serves my purpose just fine

Comes with the obnoxious Windows Vista. I replaced it with Xp and am happier how ; I have one dead pixel already (after two weeks) ; The mouse buttons are a little clunkier than on most laptops but that was more of an initial surprise than a real problem
