HP Compaq Tablet PC Tc1100

Convertible Compaq operates smoothly as both tablet and notebook.

Capable of working either as a notebook or a tablet PC, the HP Compaq Tablet PC Tc1100 mostly succeeds as the ultimate convertible unit. However, those who expect to use the Tc1100 more as a tablet may be put off by its stubbornness at accepting screen...

HP Compaq tc1100 Intel Pentium M 713 Processor 1.1GHz

Ah, the tablet PC. This little model packs enough punch to hold it's own as an ultra-portable laptop computer, adding the ability to use it as a table PC is the icing on this very tasty cake.

Although still on the expensive side in my books it certainly is a strong competitor as a tablet PC. It gives the power you need as well as the convenience offered by it's tablet PC interface.

The screen is a bit small, but to be able to carry it from pt. room to pt. room its better that way. The key board is close to the actual screen so those that type its a bit uncomfortable

Good For Teaching

I teach college courses. The HP works great when hooked up to a projector. I can scribble on power point slides and the like, save the notes for myself and the students to review latter. Most of my students submit their homework as scans - the tablet...

This is the 2nd generation of this tablet and it shows. Light weight (3.1 pounds WITHOUT the keyboard, 4.0 with), about 3 hours battery life, surprisingly responsive for 1.2 Ghz, wide viewing angle screen (important in a tablet since you tend to be...

Doesn't come bundled with the external drive bay for CD or DVD. The 10.4" screen is a little small, wish they had decided to use the 12.4" even if it was a little heavier

excellent device, excellent execution

I love that the keyboard detaches completely. The keyboard is quite decent - good key travel - but I really prefer the process of writing notes and ideas in long hand using the pen. Good pen, by the way. EVERY STUDENT SHOULD HAVE ONE OF THESE.

I've been using computers for 40 years - since 1965. I have been waiting for this device for 35 years. It is the closest thing to Alan Kay's DynaBook that I've ever seen. It is the perfect journal for an inventor, designer, scientist, artist, knowledge...

A tad bit heavy, and the battery only gives about 3.5 hours, and it needs a more secure feel in the hand. These are not bad enough cons to not get this Tablet PC
