Gtest Buy!

Great laptop, awesome price!

So far this little beauty has chewed through every game I've thrown at it, SWTOR, Dead Space1&2, Dead Island, etc. Simply put, I love this laptop

It has stolen me away from my family occasionally? lol

Made a good choice

I originally purchased this laptop to be used for a little more hardcore gaming. I upgraded from a rather old worn out laptop, so the changes were great for me. For those hardcore gamers that are looking to play games like Skyrim on max graphics...

So far so good. Internet and most games run very smooth and very well. I've tested out a few MMO's already so far, and am very satisfied with the results. I am able to run games like League of Legends and other MMO's at maximum graphics. I also have...

The only major cons I found were the fingerprint scanner and the webcam. The fingerprint scanner works well, its just you have to make sure to angle your finger the exact same way each time (if you lift your finger up too high or too low it may not...

Great Laptop, Great Price

I've only had it for a week but so far, quick startup, great performance in gaming, and everyday computing, reliable, no bsod's, no driver issues. overall a good buy, only time will tell if the build quality is strong as it looks and fee

After reading a few reviews i was skeptical of the build quality of this laptop, my previous laptop was a HP DV6, about 4 generations before this one, it lasted my two years and was still going strong, after upgrading to this one i'm surprised at the...

HP loves bloatware, uninstalled with no problems for atleast 25% quicker startups ; No backlit keyboard ; dynamic graphics card switching is dodgy, turned it off in bios and control it manually from Catalyst Control in CP ; Beats Audio is over-hyped...

Best specs for the money

Package came fast, and wonderful support from HP that makes you realize they really care about their products.

Incredibly fast i7 cpu processor helps in making anything you do fast and snappy. The Video card switching feature (6770 when using videos/games/ect. and Intel HD when using programs like word/facebook) is very cleaver when it comes to saving battery...

Scrolling can be a bit off sometimes, The scroll pad can leave prints easily. Sometimes you have to change the settings of the graphic switching to fit your need. Most driver updates have to come stright from HP instead of their site (example : the...

Excellent laptop

One thing I really appreciate about this laptop is that it has a fairly clear upgrade path. In a year or two I fully intend to upgrade to a SSD and put in more RAM (it supports up to 16 GB!) The function keys work like they do on a Mac; they are...

This is a nifty little machine. It runs cool and quiet, and can go for +/- 6 hours on a single charge under lite use (web browsing and IM). Yet with discreet graphics and a second generation, quad-core i7 processor, it can really get some work done in...

The black keyboard is difficult to use at night ; The buttons for volume control don't work in some full-screen applications ; The highly touted Beats Audio is pretty meh ; The dynamic graphics switching is a complete failure. In order to get the...

Great Laptop/Great Price

It's kind of a Macbook pro disguised as a PC. Similar layout, same graphics card, similar color, runs as fast (probably faster because of the i7). It's a great deal (probably the best as of this date) if you're looking for something in this price range.

Very nice specs for the price. i7 core and HD 6770 card easily handles most of my games (struggles a little with Unreal Tournament 3). 4-6 hour battery life when on the integrated card, which impressed me because of the 15" screen ; I formatted mine as...

The GPU switching is a little annoying to use and probably not worth it. F key quick commands can minimize full screen applications because of their on-screen images (this can be fixed by uninstalling the images). Both of these can be fixed though and...

Nice Laptop Performance at this price!

I like the feel of the keyboard keys. I bought this laptop to be my gaming laptop, and all in all it fits the bill nicely at an awesome price. I researched for several days, and this laptop is the best sub $800 (after mail-in rebate) gaming laptop you...

This is my first windows machine since XP and I am impressed with the reboot time and wake up time, something where MacOSX is awesome. The i7 processor and Radeon HD6770m graphics chip are real nice at this price point

General application programs seem somewhat sluggish opening. Don't know if I am just used to OSX times or if this is common with win7, but I consider it a con. Also, the ATI driver that came in the box did not work with SWTOR. I was told by HP support...

HP dv6-6180us

Not a bad laptop, but where is the quality control at HP? Returning this

Specs sound great ; i7 2670QM - 2.2GHz ; 6GB DDR3 1333MHz ; ATi Radeon 6770M Dedicated graphic card with 1GB ; 2 headphone output ; USB 3.0 x 2 ; Gigalan

I received this laptop with a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen, the case is not 100 aligned, beats speakers are over rated (my Lenovo sounds way better) ; the plastic around the keys is flimsy, and when u push a key it deeps into the...

Nice System

I did not like the idea of buying an HP system due to past experiences with HP, but this system is well built and very quite. The system does not have an additional mSATA port like I was hoping to add in an additional SSD, but that is not a deal breaker.

The price to system specs were the best that I could find here on Newegg at the time I bought the laptop. The system is fast and responsive. The amount of bloatware is very light and was easy to remove. This was a new system and not a refurbished unit...

The only con I have is the power plug that plugs into the system. It is quite large and sticks out about 3 inches. A 90 degree end would have been a better design. Most of the drives have to be updated from HP's website. This is not a major con to me
