HP Envy TouchSmart 15

The HP Envy Touchsmart 15 is an attractive notebook with a crisp screen and booming audio, but it doesn't pack the same graphics punch as competitors.

Attractive design and comfortable keyboard; Strong overall performance; Sharp audio; Crisp 1080p display; High-quality webcam

Below-average battery life; Graphics performance trails competitors; Can get hot on bottom

If you're looking for an attractive touch notebook with a full HD display and a comfortable keyboard, the $1,058 HP Envy Touchsmart 15 is definitely a strong contender. We also like the sharp and bright webcam on this notebook and crisp Beats Audio....

HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 laptop

HP's latest 15-inch ENVY laptop instils anything but.

Good computing performance ; Large keyboard with numeric keypad

Unacceptably low 1366x768 resolution ; Heavy at 2.6kg, bulky at 30mm thick ; Slow mechanical storage

Functional, but feels like a budget model with a AU$1,400/NZ$1,900 price tag.

One of the key benefits of Intel's new Haswell processors is the improved power-efficiency that leads to greater battery life and portability. It seems a little odd, then, that the first Haswell laptop we've seen from HP should be a 15.6-inch desktop...

The HP TouchSmart 15 is not particularly portable, even by the standards of other 15.6-inch laptops. However, its high-quality screen and speaker system make it an excellent entertainment machine for use at home, while the i7 processor provides desktop...

HP Envy Touchsmart 15

A laptop with 16GB RAM for £1,000, but will the HP Envy Touchsmart make your friends envious?

Impressive specs for the price ; Great game performance for a laptop ; Impressive sound output

Lack of SSD makes a speedy laptop feel sluggish ; Flakey keyboard and uninspiring trackpad ; Unimpressive screen

On the plus side, the resolution is very good for this size, and the 15.6 inches of space means that the touch interaction works far better than on some smaller Ultrabooks where we’ve been struggling for accuracy against the smaller screen real estate....

HP Envy TouchSmart 15

Certainly not a small and light offering, ideal for a tower/desktop replacement, the native resolution is 1920x1080 just like what a standard panel will display. The advantage it can travel with you when required to do so.

The HP Envy TouchSmart 15 measures 37.5x24.5x3cm and weights a tad under 2.6kilos. The visible screen is 34x19.5cm which gives the notional diagonal imperial measurement of 15.6inches which shows the same resolution as most panels, it also means you...

A stylish desktop replacement with powerful specs and a touchscreen display

Slim for a desktop replacement, stylish aluminium body, super-fast application performance, responsive touchscreen

Lack of SSD storage can slow down the Envy when starting up and shutting down

We'd advise that for those looking for a larger laptop or desktop replacement but who would only use it for web browsing and office software, the Envy Touchsmart 15 wouldn't be worth the £1,000 price tag. However, if you're looking for a powerful...

Love HP Envy, hate Windows 8!

I love my HP Envy. The biggest problem with it is that it comes with Windows 8 which is the worst windows operating system I have ever used. I have worked with computers for 40 years so when I say it is the worst operating system I have ever used, you...
