HP G72-250us

We like the design and performance of the HP G72-250us, but tinny speakers on a big desktop replacement always ruin the fun.

Great performance for the price. Strong battery life. Attractive design. Comfortable keyboard and touchpad. Lightweight for desktop replacement.

Weak audio. No eSATA port. No Blu-ray drive.

HP G72 review

It's huge, it's cheap, but is HP's low-end 17-inch laptop any good?

Huge screen ; Good resolution ; Excellent case design ; Capable internals

Not much power ; Super-heavy construction ; Invisible trackpad ; Odd keyboard layout

Business is booming at the low end of the laptop market. The PC platform has basically levelled out in terms of the functionality most of us expect. You don't need to shell out on a Macbook Pro or a high end Dell laptop such as the Latitude XT2 XFR to...

A stylish desktop replacement laptop that looks good and plays hard; top value too

The HP G72 has much to recommend it, though. It manages to offer what few budget desktop replacements can: decent performance and a good range of features, coupled with a stylish exterior, generous screen size and surprising battery life. At £447 exc...

HP G72-227WM

Overall, even though it just died on me, if I can't find a replacement hard drive that is cheaper than getting the actual computer again, I won't hesitate to get another one. It's one of the best computers I've own in a long time.

Relatively lightweight, good keyboard layout, ports have easy access. It's been very fast and easy to work with, and I use it every day for work. It's perfect for watching movies/TV on or split-screening documents and webpages while I'm working. I...

Every once in a while, the CPU gets a bit overtaxed, and I have to calm it down a bit. Lately, it's been running a bit hot, so I can't have it directly on my lap anymore, but that's just a minor annoyance. The hard drive did just die for no apparent...

Great value,

Paid $359 Best Value out there. Looks brand new! My previous notebook was a Vista DV9700 series entertainment behemoth. 17" display and weight was in the 12-20lb class. This one does everything that did but for a 17" notebook it's light and portable!!!...

Great Computer - shoddy recertification

Gorgeous screen, roomy keyboard, fast CPU and plenty of RAM for everyday use. I bought this for my 60-something mother and she absolutely loves it

DDR2 Ram (should have read the specs more closely, so no markdown for that) ; More importantly, the computer came with the keyboard all messed up. The 8 key was where the 9 should be and numerous keys fall off with very light use. It literally looks...

Notebook number four

Recertfied and Refurbished by HP, never again and never buy anything that you can not return for your money back or a least a different brand. Now wish I had just went to Wally World.

This is number four and it wooks, but

The fan is very noisy, I don't think it will last very long but if I send it back the next one will be even worse
