Review HP Pavilion dv3-2390eg Notebook

Touching allowed. The Touch notebook can?t decide if it's for ent ...

Touch panel ; Good application performance ; Solid construction ; Keyboard with good feedback ; Useable runtimes ; Hybrid graphics

TFT isn't anti-glare ; Low contrasts ; Relatively dark TFT ; Smooth buttons, touch pad ; Heavy weight ; Limited gaming performance ; Loud under load, always can be heard ; Droning effect of the HDD ; High idle power consumption

How HP manages to build a 7,200 rpm HDD with a droning effect in nearly all its laptops

Good workmanship ; Numerous, sensibly placed ports ; A lot of supplies ; Touchscreen ; Cool

Only an average display ; Many smudge attracting surfaces ; Obtrusive fan

That the small, but, relatively high chassis with its rounded shape appears nearly a little bit plump

Specially-treated keyboard ; Great variety of ports

Incredibly twitchy touchpad ; Microscopic function keys

HP's head-on competitor to the Gateway UC7807u scores style points but stumbles with both performance and some functionality.

HP Pavilion dv3z

HP's latest 13-inch notebook offers a sleek design and good performance at a reasonable price.

The HP Pavilion dv3z has a lot going for it: a svelte design (even with the nine-cell battery); good looks; a bright, LED-backlit display; loud speakers, and good performance—with the exception of the sluggish hard drive. Although heavier, the $799...

HP Pavilion dv3z

Affordable and lightweight laptops are few and far between: You'd have to settle for either a netbook or a desktop replacement laptop in order to spend less than $1,000. I'd like to see more systems that don't skimp on screen real estate yet are still...

Affordable. Slim and compact. Tasteful design. Endless selection of features. Large, bright LED widescreen. Big battery. 4GB of memory. Excellent keyboard. Backlit keyboard option

AMD parts were outperformed by Intel systems in all areas of benchmark testing. Heat and fan noise can be bothersome on certain tasks

The HP Pavilion dv3z's build quality is as eye-pleasing as it is portable, but performance can be an issue if your workload isn't light.

HP Pavilion dv3-2150us

Two USB ports adjoin the DVD+/-RW drive at the left side. A combo USB/eSATA port is at the right, as are HDMI, VGA, and Ethernet ports, the ExpressCard slot, and an SD/MMC/xD/MS flash-card slot.

Great battery life. Nice screen, keyboard, and multimedia remote control. Just five pounds including optical drive

Creaky integrated graphics. Blu-ray and Bluetooth not included

A compact laptop with a big battery, the HP Pavilion dv3-2150us is an appealing alternative to its big-screen multimedia centers.

HP Pavilion dv3 4305se Review

A powerfully small package.

Very powerful, Good keyboard, Doesn't get too hot under constant load, Compact size

Low battery time

Inside there’s a large mouse pad with a generously size Chiclet keyboard. No backlight on this one, sadly. The 13” screen may be glossy, but the 1366×768 resolution LED screen seems good enough during daytime.
