HP Pavilion dv3510nr

Editors' note: This review is part of our Holiday 2008 Retail Laptop Roundup , covering specific new configurations of popular laptops that can be found in retail stores.

Outstanding feature set includes Centrino 2 platform, backlit keyboard and media control keys, fingerprint reader, remote control, and HDMI and eSATA ports; great application performance and fair 3D performance; highly portable but still makes room for...

No FireWire; glossy touchpad doesn't provide best feel.

Best Buy listened to its customers and then teamed up with HP to create the Pavilion dv3510nr, one of the big box store's first Blue Label laptops. This sleek-yet-loaded 13-inch laptop deserves a blue ribbon, too, for its all-around excellence and value.

HP Pavilion dv3510nr

A backlit keyboard, discrete graphics, loud speakers, and a cool new Imprint finish make the dv3510nr one of our favorite thin-and-light multimedia notebooks.

Overall, the Overall, the $1,099 HP Pavilion dv3510nr is a sleek and powerful 13-inch notebook. The identically priced 14-inch Toshiba E105—the other laptop that launched the Blue Label program that includes a backlit keyboard—offers longer battery...

"Already returned it to Best Buy!"

AS with anything, you never know what you're buying until you test drive it for awhile. I'll be trying out the Toshiba which is also in Best Buy's blue label series. It has very similiar features in addition to have a slightly larger screen and I...

Nice backlit keyboard and the fingerprint reader is an excellent feature.

The computer that I got was a slug! The DVD player funtioned only intermittantly and I'm thinking (so is Geek Squad ) that there was probably something wrong with the processor and/or motherboard. Don't believe the battery life to be as good either

"Best bang for the buck"

Good overall laptop. Very pleased with the purchase. I have a couple of laptops at home and I use a Linksys wireless router. For some reason this laptop is very slow when connecting to that router, while my other laptops do just fine. Took it to the...

Fast, not too heavy, decent battery life, not too big so good for travel

wireless was a bit slow, keyboard a bit too smooth, Windows Vista

"Great Potential, but..."

If they would fix the driver conflict, this laptop would really hum. Liked the small footprint, widescreen format, and light weight. Backlit keys rock.

Well-constructed, great feature set. Capacity to restore mchine on the fly is good.

Exchanged the unit because it would not play DVDs. The replacment unit also would not play DVDs. What are the odds that two units in a row were bad? I returned it.

I have not been impressed with the HP Pavillion dv3510nr. I purchased my first machine in December 2008 from BestBuy (the only place you can get this model). My harddrive crashed in May 2009. BestBuy was nice enough to swap me out for a new computer (of
