HP Pavilion dv6z Review

The newest 16-inch notebook from HP promises to deliver great performance at a low price and might be very popular in 2009. The HP Pavilion dv6z features the latest AMD dual-core processors, your choice of integrated or discrete graphics, and all the...

Good value ; Excellent selection of ports ; Nice design and build quality ; Good speakers

Average battery life ; Low screen resolution for a 16-inch screen ; Heat exhaust can be extremely hot on the bottom

If you're currently shopping for a full-featured desktop replacement notebook at a reasonable price then the HP Pavilion dv6z deserves your consideration. The HP Pavilion dv6z came extremely close to winning an Editor's Choice Award because of the...

The HP dv6z quad edition is defiately the laptop to buy

All and all, the DV6 is by my opinion, a spectacu;ar laptop, starting at $649.

1) For it's SPECTACULAR audio ; 2) Smooth and big trackpad, with 2 buttons ; 3) It's blazing fast quad core AMD A series prossesors ; 4) It' "no buffering" graphics (tested on world of warcraft, on the "ultra graphics" setting)

Though, the only downfall is that it does not have a backlit keyboard (HP, are you listening?)

It is a piece of crap

Bottom-line: Do not buy this notebook or any notebook from HP because they are terrible. Just look at this article: HP's have more than a 25% failure rate over the course of 3 years. Mine failed...

Fast ; Pretty powerful ; Multi-touch mouse pad ; Can get a backlight for the keyboard

The backlight for the screen ; The screen itself, and ; The wireless adapter all stopped working a multitude of times ; After being sent into HP for repair, the Screen continued not to work and a usb port stopped working

HP Pavilion dv6z Quad Edition customizable Notebook PC

The dv6 is an excellent laptop, though admittedly I got the higher-end specs such as the AMD graphics card, the 2.0 GHz cpu, and 8 Gb of RAM, as well as a 9-cell battery. The laptop has succeeded at everything I've put it to so far, such as leaving it...

From web browsing to Gaming it handles ever task extremely fast and smooth. This computer runs games really well and can easily run medium to high setting for most games. Great performance for the price. I recommend the AMD A8 for overall performance.
