Don't do it!!

This laptop has a fatal flaw. Bought ours a year ago and have had to replace the charger to it 3 times now. There is an overheating issue and a battery issue with this model that keeps frying the charger. And, despite all the numerous pages you can find when you search for "HP Pavillion dv7 charger problems" or "HP Pavillion dv7 battery charge problems" (yes there are hundreds of angry customers out there), you won't find a single solution to the problem or recall from HP. They just play dumb and let their customers keep shelling out $70-$80 for each new charger. REDICULOUS. Bought a new desktop for $1400 from HP last year, too. Ironically enough, it is having power supply issues and the service department is dragging their feet on helping me. Not returning emails and when they do, they are needlessly having me repeat troubleshooting steps over and over. Trying to drag it out past my warranty time. Not cool!! When a customer spends over $2000 on your products, you should be making darned sure that you are standing behind your work.
