HP dv9096xx

We've said it before, and we're saying it again: HP ain't exactly famous for its gaming rigs. But to our surprise, the company has raised the bar for itself with the dv9096xx, a 17-inch movie-centric desktop replacement with a lot more graphics action...

If you’re searching for a savvy blend of price and performance, this desktop replacement from HP certainly fits the bill, so long as you’re not planning to spend too much time gaming or stray too far from a desk (or at least from a power source). To...

HP Pavilion dv9000t with Vista Review

The screen is huge and the notebook itself is very slim. Previous 17” laptops from HP were very bulky weighing 9.8lbs, but it's nice to know that the dv9000t is easy to carry when needed. Believe it or not, I actually carry this thing around every day...

Large screen ; Number pad ; HDMI output ; Touchpad on/off switch ; Slim profile give the laptop size

Fingerprint magnet (cloth included however) ; Touchpad has some drag ; Right Shift key is smaller ; Media keys make noise (turn off in BIOS) ; Fans run quite often ; Notebook lid is a bit flimsy when closed

Running Windows Vista Home Premium on this laptop has its ups and downs. As a whole, my PC runs smoothly but certain areas like copying large amounts of files needs a LOT of work. HP includes all the drivers in a folder called SwSetup, so if you ever...

Junk your old desktop and replace it with this big screen multimedia notebook.

HP dv9000z

The HP Pavilion dv9200z laptop is the first Vista Ultimate pre-loaded portable we've had a chance to look at up close for any appreciable time. That in itself is a factor in the review that follows, and we will try to provide a perspective of how this...

Beautiful screen; HD-DVD playback; HDMI output; attractive design

Dismal battery life; quirky 64-bit software/driver issues

The HP Pavilion dv9200z offers everything you need in a well thought out media system.

HP Pavilion dv9000t Review

I had been in the market for a new laptop for quite some time. I do alot of digital design work including web design and photo retouching, as well as making art in my spare time. I needed something with a bright, large screen and ample resolution to...

Extremely affordable ; Beautiful Imprint Finish ; Built-in Mic/Webcam ; Unrivaled screen ; Nearly silent operation ; Thin and light for a notebook of its size

Not enough choices for resolution ; Middle of the road GPU ; Dissapointing touchpad ; Fingerprint magnet

The operating system I chose for my system was Windows Media Center Edition. In essence, it is Windows Home with more multimedia options. I have no need for pro and the features included on MCE are pretty neat, especially for a media fanatic like...

HP's Pavilion dv9000t media laptop

HP's latest model of their media power laptop lineup, the dv9000 series, now has one more option for users to configure when they go to order theirs: Core 2 Duo. It's not as though we haven't seen enough of these Core 2 Duo machines already this week...

HP Pavilion dv9000t (Vista)

There's a lot to be said about HP's design: The artistic imprints and the piano-black finish make it flashier than the Qosmio AV660. Its dimensions are thin, too: 15.5 by 11.1 by 1.1 inches (HWD). At 8.8 pounds, the dv9000t is still heavy, but...

Loaded with the über edition of Vista. Excellent HD experience. HDMI port for HD output. Best deal out there for an HD DVD laptop. Innovative remote that fits in the Express Card slot. Built-in remote sensor. Lighter than the competition

Needs an integrated TV tuner. I'd like to see some more options for graphics cards

If you're ready to jump on the HD DVD bandwagon, the dv9000t offers the best playback software and features on a desktop-replacement laptop.

HP Pavilion dv9000t

PC manufacturers are constantly striving to get Media Center laptops into your living room, and the integration of technology trends such as high-definition media content will only speed their passage. The HP Pavilion dv9000t is a fine example of what...

Integrated HD DVD-ROM drive. QuickPlay 2.3 is solid for HD playback. Powerful processor. Two headphone ports. 2GB RAM

1,440-by-900 resolution seems a little low for an HD. Still doesn't have an integrated TV tuner

The dv9000t is a solid Media Center laptop if you're looking for an HD DVD drive, fast processing, and smooth video-playback software with HP's QuickPlay 2.3 player.

Product Specifications
