Review HP Pavilion g7-1353eg Notebook

For smart savers. HP designs the Pavilion g7-1353eg according to the motto "plenty of hardware for a small price". The inexpensive multimedia notebook, price-tagged at just under EUR 500, not only has a quad core processor and two graphics chips, it...

Reasonable noise development ; Quad core CPU and dual GPU ; Cool case surfaces ; Low power consumption ; Compact power adapter ; Attractive price ; Big HDD

CrossFire issues (e. g. micro stuttering) ; Unpleasant touchpad surface ; Poor interface diversity ; Poor glare-screen ; Second grade keyboard ; Poor performance

Unthinkable not very long ago: A quad core in a EUR 500 device

Review HP Pavilion g7-1002sg Notebook

Cubicle Fixture. Ever since its little brother got some attention as part of the "Intel TESTIT!2011" notebook testing pool, the HP Pavilion g7 Office notebook has been aching for its moment in the spotlight. For 499 Euro (RRP), Hewlett Packard is...

Easy-to-Access Hardware; Acceptable Variety of Ports; Large Keyboard w/ Num Pad; HD+ Resolution (1600x900); Good Application Performance

Somewhat Flimsy Plastic Case; Few Accessories; Poor-Quality Keyboard & Touchpad; Mediocre Reflective Screen; Only Sandy Bridge Models with SATA III Support; Constantly Spinning Fan; Noise and Heat under Heavy Use; Unimpressive Battery Life

The low starting price of 499 Euro (RRP), which naturally translates to shortcomings in some areas. Nevertheless, this desktop replacement will surely attract a certain customer base

HP Pavilion g7-1260us

The g7-1260us has a large 17.6-inch widescreen that displays in 1,600-by-900 resolution, the same resolution offered on the Gateway NV77H05u. The screen has a bright LED backlight that offers better visibility in brightly lit environments, and is large...

Intel Core i3 processor. 640GB hard drive. Big 17-inch display. Stylish two-toned design

Mushy keyboard. Speakers can't handle louder volumes. Limited feature set

The HP Pavilion g7-2160us is a budget-priced laptop equipped with a Core i3 processor, big screen, and large hard drive, for a fairly low price. It's great, so long as you can accept a limited feature set.

Bought to replace 7 year old HP

HP has been in the news for discontinuing their tablets. Let's hope they continue to support their laptops. It was a concern when I went to replace my older laptop, but despite the support prospect and HP being known for bloatware, I will stick with...

Screen size, keyboard, hdmi connection. media keys on top helpful.Sound system is better than most. Don't need external speakers. Fan is quieter than my old HP. let's see how much I love it in a month

So far, I can't say anything negative. Hopefully won't need warranty

Great laptop for the money

Cannot comment on the original hard drive. I only booted into Windows 7 once to see if the computer worked out of the box. It appeared reasonably fast for a 5400RPM drive. Replaced the drive with a SSD drive and installed Fedora (Linux).

Nice big, bright 17" screen. First time i3 user and pleasantly surprised. 4GB RAM. Decent appearance -- after all the stickers were removed :)

Battery life is not all that great: around 2-2.5 hours (with wireless on). Would have preferred 1920x1080 instead of 1600x900 but cannot really complain given the price (480USD). Left hand-side gets "toasty" (just below keyboard)

Excellent Performance at a Great Value

I am extremely satisfied with this purchase. Large display with sharp, vibrant graphics. Excellent sound quality (you can put away the headphones and speakers!), which makes viewing movies a pleasure. Real-time when video chatting using the built-in...

HP uses FEDEX for delivery (this is not the first time they have forgotten where I live and sent my goods around the country); I am not a fan of mouse pads on the computers but this is the best I have seen, but it is still not all that user friendly (it i

excellent machine, well worth the price

Within a matter of hours, i got rid of windows on this machine (for ubuntu, of course), so i can't say much about included software, other than the fact that i personally hate it. i did notice that the integrated speakers have a very crappy sound to...

above-par processing, do not let the name "i3" fool you ; bright screen, even in sunlight conditions ; good battery life, for it's size

bloatware included with windows 7 ; very poor audio quality from the integrated speakers
