A great Hackintosh

I installed Lion 10.7.3 using guides on the interwebs. Google 'Probook 4530s Lion install guide' and you will find all of the information you need. Everything works, except bluetooth does not work after waking from sleep. I don't use bluetooth, so I...

As a Windows 7 machine, it's ok. Light enough for my needs, portable, and I love the metal finish

Tons of bloatware to uninstall. You're better off doing a clean install of Windows 7

Good small business notebook

Its a personal preference for me to install a freshly loaded OS from physical restore media. It just feels cleaner to me and memory management doesn't get mucked up with side-loaded software. Since the restore media DVDs don't come with the notebook,...

very swift system...for basic services. Don't expect excellent CAD & high-end video editing ; very sleek and classy look & feel ; price doesn't break the bank ; not a fingerprint magnet ; keyboard feels pretty good for normal use. I wouldn't write...

screen contrast ratio is a little lower than most notebooks. It takes a couple minutes for your eyes to re-adjust. Its a matte screen, which tends to muck up color output as well. Matte screen is definitely not a con, but color & contrast adjustment...

Impressive, but...

When I just opened the box, I liked the design and usability of the laptop. But now, after spending a few weeks using it, I feel I would rather get a different laptop for myself.

The laptop offers surprisingly clean and pleasant case design, coming close to what Apple offers. Good quality keyboard. Speed/performance should satisfy general use for Internet/office applications. Case is cleanly shielded from the...

Unfortunately, the laptop falls short in several key areas ; LCD screen quality is poor. It has low contrast and seems not color-calibrated. It is hard to read from, at least in office lightning ; Up/Down arrows are so tiny that I frequently hit Shift...

not too shabby

i got this back in may and after attempting to put up with the bloatware for about a month (experimenting), I reformatted the hard drive with my windows 7 x64 dvd. fingerprint scanner is nifty, but i had some issues with that since i reformatted. when...

for the price, this is a very good notebook. the screen is LED-backlit which does make some colors not look right, but works well enough and uses less power than LCD-only screens. the top of the notebook (back of the screen) is aluminum which has a...

the DVD player is extremely loud. omitting the back of the screen, the rest of the notebook is plastic. when i bought it, the 4430s was advertised as having usb 3.0. as many reviewers have stated, that is questionable though not relevant to myself....

Size, weight, metal case 7200, hdmi

Advertised as USB3, but mine is not. HP confirmed some were shipped with, some without ; Avoid if USB3 is important to you

Excellent hardware - too much bloat!

Solid keyboard, good display, very good harware and connectivity

I had to remove about 30 programs that were unnecessary and or redundant
