AMD Dynamic Switchable Graphics vs. Nvidia Optimus

A question of comfort. Several years ago notebooks with hybrid graphics (integrated and dedicated graphics) were still rarities. With the GPU integration in the new Intel Core-i processors, as well as proprietary graphics switching solutions from the...

On the other hand Optimus is also not completely perfect, and could improve in some areas of usability. The manual switching between the integrated and dedicated graphics for example, which is possible with AMD, would be useful for skeptical users. The...

Review HP ProBook 4730s-LH335EA/LH343EA Notebook

Business consumer. This 17.3-inch HP notebook is meant to entice business customers, but is basically a consumer notebook. Is the ProBook 4730s ideal for both classes, or will it fail to appeal to anyone?

Good build quality, Typing is comfortable, Matt display, Reasonable battery life, Attractive design, That you can get a well-made notebook with no serious flaws for just 600 Euros

Unstable lid, Mediocre touchpad, Not many ports, A few more ports would have been good for this ProBook; and a better touchpad and display wouldn’t have gone amiss either

Bought this computer a year ago and it is basically the best computer I could have gotten. I love it and would buy another if I needed to. Don't expect to though because it's just that good..

Good value in a 17" notebook

The 14" and 15" variants are also nice and I've deployed 4 or 5 of those as well.

I've deployed 6 of these since August, the users are pleased. I upgrade them to 8GB of RAM and use 120-128 GB SSD's for storage. The rest of the package is nicer than the equivalent D-word offiering, the metalized case and keyboard are a definite step up

Lots of weird HP crud and demos have to be uninstalled, including one addin that drastically conflicted with Outlook 2010. Slightly more irritating than D-word's junk addons

Excellent laptop

The highest quality laptops I've ever used. We have purchased over a hundred and have had virtually no hardware problems. The price of these is quite competitive

We've had a couple of software issues, but that is all

Great Buy

I have had this laptop for six months now and it is absolutely wonderful for converting video, multi-tasking, and playing games. The only thing is you need to make sure you keep the cooling fan clean and use a cooling pad under this unit if you intend...

No USB 3?

Wondering what to do with that Express Card slot? Adapters for USB 3 and even Firewire 400 exist! Anyone with experience using them?NOTE: I am still considering dropping $1100 for this baby, but the comment form demands a rating, so I tried to be neutral.
