HP Slate 500 Tablet is Now Available

The Slate 500's release does come after the ever-present iPad. The iPad, however, is seen as more of a consumer-based tablet, despite it being used by some businesses. To rival the iPad, HP plans to release a tablet based on the WebOS mobile software...

HP Slate 500 shows up on its website

It's been a while since we heard about the HP Slate. However, we've come upon something quite intriguing. And as it looks from here, this image of the HP Slate 500 Tablet surface on the HP site is a 8.9 inch one. There's the touch screen and all that...

Do not buy

We bought this unit to run a windows app in our warehouse. It was a total failure. It takes at least 10 times as many clicks as an ipad takes to do the same thing.

I waited a long time after reviewing the "not yet on the market" HP Slate and considered other Tablets before finally seeing that I could order it online. Staples and Office Depot still do not carry it. I think I know why; it needs some improving,...

The world is in love with the Apple iPad; heck I like them too. But as an IT and office working professional I found it tiring to always be looking for new apps to make the iPad function in the ways that I need.

The only negative so far is that one day I got an error message while powering up and the pointer or my finger did not work had to plug it into the KVM to solve. MS should look into Windows 7 support of slates at that early point in loading the OS.

I have never been disappointed buying one of its tablet PC. HP Slate 500 is no exception. This one replaces my HP TC-1100 which its battery was dying of old age. Two thumbs up for HP.

Good for Tablet PC junkies

The best part of my tablet experience is when I can treat the tablet like a pad of paper, and write with a pencil. The finger interface is fun, I guess, but a tablet with a pencil is a must for me.
