Review HP Spectre 13-h205eg x2 Convertible

Silent companion. Haswell makes it possible: HP offers a fan-less 13.3-inch notebook with the Spectre 13 x2, which transforms into a tablet with a push of a button. However, the bulky detachable is certainly no bargain with a retail price of almost...

Rigid case with good build quality; Long battery runtimes; Good system performance; High-contrast IPS display; 802.11ac WLAN; UMTS/HSPA module; Silent and cool

Low 3D performance; Limited connectivity; Device cannot be upgraded; High price

The market for Windows based convertibles/detachables is growing and anybody could find a suitable device. Some alternatives would be the Acer Iconia Tab W700, Asus Transformer Book TX300CA, Sony Vaio Duo 13, Microsoft Surface Pro, Dell XPS 12, Asus...

HP Spectre 13 Ultrabook review: a good deal, but with trade-offs

It's already March, dear readers, which means with the exception of this post right here, you're not going to find many laptop reviews on this site. Why?

Attractive design ; Fast performance ; Good specs for the money ; Bright display ; Generous warranty, Adobe Lightroom included gratis

Heavy for a 13-inch Ultrabook ; Middling battery life, especially considering the heft ; Trackpad needs a driver update ; Shallow keys have an occasionally "sticky" feel

There's lots to like about the Spectre 13 -- especially given the low price. For the money, you can expect an attractive design, bright display, fast performance and a generous warranty. But you should also prepare yourself for middling battery life...

HP Spectre 13 review: an exceedingly well-executed return to the basics

Think all trackpads are the same? Run your fingers over HP's new Control Zone.

Innovative Control Zone touchpad works great with Windows 8 ; Fabulous battery life ; Very good audio

Integrated graphics will be a showstopper for some ; Annoying fan ; 802.11ac Wi-Fi is a $20 option

The HP Spectre 13 nails the fundamentals, and its innovative trackpad works great with Windows 8.

HP Spectre 13 Ultrabook

It looks fantastic, but sluggish performance is the real story with HP's latest ultrabook.

HP Spectre 13

This premium Ultrabook looks the goods, but performance suffers due to the slim dimensions.

Attractive, sturdy aluminium chassis ; The 2560 x 1440 display makes pixel-spotting next to impossible

A dedicated GPU would be nice at this price ; 802.11ac should be mandatory

We can't deny the excellent construction quality of the Spectre 13, which is as sturdy as it is attractive. Unfortunately there's a huge price premium attached, which is partly justified by the gorgeous touch screen. However, overall system performance...

A slim, yet solid laptop

Bought this for my wife. She really likes Windows 8 and has shown me that it's not "as bad as people say." The computer is more expensive for a reason. You can tell it competes with the aluminum MacBooks. Performance is great for what she does (no...
