HP Spectre x360 review: What happens when Microsoft helps build a laptop?

The Spectre x360 is one of our new favorite laptops, thanks to its premium design, fast performance, vibrant screen and comfortable keyboard. It's relatively heavy compared to competing laptops, but it mostly makes up for it with nearly best-in-class...

Attractive, well-made design ; Long battery life ; Colorful screen, good viewing angles ; Comfortable keyboard ; Fast performance ; Reasonably priced

A bit heavy for a 13-inch laptop, even one with a convertible design ; Relative heaviness makes it less practical to use as a tablet ; Touchpad offers a bit too much friction

I asked at the beginning of this review if there's anything not to like about the Spectre x360. Indeed there is: the machine's relative heaviness. At three-plus pounds, it's hardly a clunker, but it is noticeably weightier than other 13-inch machines....

HP Spectre X360 15T review: It's sexy and thin, but comes with a performance cost

With its new Spectre X360 15T, HP is offering a different approach to the high-end, high-performance 15-inch laptop. This is a laptop, the company says, that's aimed at folks who want a sizable screen and reasonably great performance wrapped in a great...

Sexy, thin, and a tiny power brick ; Big screen with a dual-core price

Still very large footprint despite not having performance of competing laptops ; Dual-core gets smacked around by quad-core competitors

HP Spectre x360 review: A sexy convertible that just can't take the heat

Slight thermal throttling under heavy loads mars an otherwise gorgeous picture including a CNC aluminum body, responsive touchscreen and awesome battery life.

Sexy milled aluminum chassis ; Reasonably priced at $1,000

Throttles under heavy CPU loads ; Big and heavy

HP's Spectre x360 is one sexy convertible laptop with a full-sized comfortable keyboard and ultra-wide trackpad. Using Intel's latest 5th generation CPU, the Spectre x360 main Achilles's heel is its size,...

HP Spectre x360 review

HP is looking to put a new spin on a well-established idea with the Spectre x360. This new-for-2015 Windows hybrid laptop doesn't break any new ground -- its foldback hinge allows for easy conversion to "tablet" mode -- the combination of premium metal...

The HP Spectre x360 has a solid aluminum body, smooth 360-degree hinges, an excellent display and very long battery life.

It's heavier than a MacBook Air, and like many similar hybrids, it leaves the keyboard exposed in tablet mode. Higher-end screen options could limit battery life.

The HP Spectre x360 delivers a high-end, flexible Windows laptop design at a mainstream price with a battery that runs all day.

HP Spectre x360 13t (i7-8550U, FHD, SSD) Laptop Review

Function follows form. No doubt about it: the Spectre is a premium convertible with a robust high-quality case, and it's up-to-date thanks to Intel's latest 8th generation Core i7-8550U processor. Let's take a closer look at what hides behind all these...

almost 100 % sRGB color space coverage ; very decent black level ; enjoyable keyboard and touchpad ; high-quality good looking CNC-routed case ; USB 3.0 Type-A and 2x Thunderbolt 3.0 ; MicroSD card reader

low TDP and thermal power throttling ; underwhelming GPU performance ; mediocre brightness, highly reflective display ; soldered RAM ; poor maintainability

The price obviously depends on your choice of hardware, and the device can be configured according to your individual liking in HP’s web store. The base model starts at $999 and includes an i5-8250U CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and a 360 GB SSD (currently a free...

HP Spectre 13 x360 Convertible Review

Enduring beauty. I want a light 13-inch notebook, a tablet, a high-quality as well as great-looking chassis, and really long battery runtimes. But those are 4 wishes at once, that's really not possible! Yes it is. The big surprise in our in-depth review.

two practical configurations available, robust and very attractive unibody chassis, light, flawless build quality, great aluminum surfaces, sophisticated appearance, different modes like tablet thanks to the 360 degrees hinge, good port selection for...

Lid bounces heavily and for a long time during movements ..., ... and cannot be opened with one hand, Ethernet adaptor only 10/100 Mbps, no maintenance hatch, keyboard illumination cannot be dimmed and is slightly uneven, black value too high, which...

The light and flexible HP Spectre 13 x360 not only completely convinces us with its design and the chassis quality but also with the convenient input devices and the majority of technical aspects. The Turbo utilization is not perfect, and there can be...

HP Spectre x360 Review: A Ghost of a Chance Against Apple

HP and Microsoft have joined forces to deliver a Windows laptop that is as good or better than a MacBook Air. Is it enough?

SPEED—faster than any thin-and-light laptop has a right to be. ; Excellent battery life ; Premium fit and finish

ClickPad has left-click/right-click problems ; Integrated Intel graphics are just “okay” ; May not be enough to sway MacBook fanboys ; This Windows laptop really is as good or better than an Apple MacBook Air in almost every way imaginable. But is that...

HP Spectre x360 13 (i5-6200U) Convertible Review

Bullseye. HP has equipped its Spectre x360 series with the latest Skylake processors and continues the success of the recently reviewed model. Unfortunately, known problems remained.

robust and elegant case, system performance, battery life, heat development, system noise, good input devices, build quality

speakers, lid teeters evidently, no maintenance flap

In the Spectre x360, HP once again provided us with a well-made upper class convertible. We can easily praise the choice of materials and the design. Unfortunately, the hinges are still weak. The display teeters too much when touch inputs are made....
